Good Morning! That is a beautiful picture! I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. I am starting over on phase 1 today, so wish me luck. I got an excercise bike for christmas and plan on putting it to use every day. I haven't been good these last couple of weeks and have gained a few pounds, and they aren't gonna stay. lol.

Hi guys,
Mind If I join you? I am starting SB as of today. I've done low carb for about 5 years beginning with Atkins but kind of morphed into my own plan. The weight is creeping up so I want to get back on a structured plan again and SB seems perfect. ![]() |

Janey and Hi again Vegasgirl. We had a small detour at our house and we will be tightening up again. It's amazing how fast the pounds can creep back, isn't it? Better to do it now than wait til New Years, right? |

I started yesterday and was successful for day 1. It wasn't easy with all the goodies still hanging around. I need to get rid of the cookies/chips/honey baked ham

Well I blew it for 2 days and now I'm just saying the heck with it and starting over with today as day 1.
My foot still hurts from dancing the other day, so maybe some parts of Callenetics I can do, I just can't put full weight on it. But I can exercise some of my other parts, eh? I feel I have to say to the newbies there's lots of pumpkin on my SB plan. It's not supposed to be on Phase 1. SB considers it a Phase 2 starchy food. But in my opinion it's a squash, it's an Atkins induction veggie, and for only 40 cals for a 1/2 cup with no fat and 6 grams fiber....I'm going to eat it anyway. This is just my choice....not a true SB Phase 1 plan. Today: S Beach, Day 1 (148 lbs) BR: milk w/ coffee, 1/2c pumpkin w/ walnuts and 2tbl whipped cream. LN: 1c Chicken Enchilada Soup DN: 1c Pumpkin Sausage Soup SN: Romaine w/ feta, walnuts & FF Blue Cheese dressing SN: milk w/ coffee SN: 1/2c pumpkin if I need another snack 32oz minimum water.

I made Pumpkin Sausage Soup from the recipe room:
http://www.lowcarbfriends.com/recipe...cat/all/page/1 I used 1% milk instead of the cream and water, and used turkey sausage instead of Jimmy Dean Hot. It sounded weird, but is really, really good. There is one can of pumpkin in it, and it makes 8 cups of soup, so I think there is less than 1/4c pumpkin in each serving (20 cals). It's low fat, and doesn't taste like pumpkin at all. It just tastes good. ![]() |

Hi everyone. We're getting a late start this morning. We were out VERY late last night--went to see the Rockettes in Nashville. Thank goodness we don't have to work today. Have a great, beachy day.

The lower-fat version of the pumpkin soup sounds wonderful! I keep hearing about this soup on this forum, so now I have to try it. Thanks for posting the link and telling us how you "de-fatted" it for South Beach.
I agree pumpkin should be on Phase 1. It is low calorie, high fiber and with a very low glycemic load. On Dr. David Ludwig's glycemic load food pyramid, it is considered a low starch veggie with no limitations. I love pumpkin! |

5 days into SB Phase 1 and I got a 4 lb whoosh! This is HUGE for me because:
1. For the last 2 years I couldn't even eat LC (stomach disease affecting digestion of meat, veggies and fat). I take a med from overseas that is really helping me now. 2. I have Addison's disease and 2 years ago was put on cortisone pills (for life) and they make you gain weight. I didn't even know it would be possible for me to lose anything.... but I really wanted to try, and IT WORKED!! OMGosh what a happy New Years Eve! I just wanna ![]() |

That's wonderful, Wendy. You're website is so full of information--very helpful. I'm amazed at how you are able to handle these problems.
