shopping....ARARrGGGggg

So I just got back from shopping and it is always so frustrating. EVERYTHING has sugar in it. I just want to find something pre-made and easy that doesn't have sugar or corn syrup or flour or rice....ARGG. It's sad that I couldn't find a canned chili w/o sugar......it's just chili, why do you need sugar?!?! What do you guys do? Make everything at home? Are there any brands that are known for no added crap?

I feel your pain. Yes, basically, we make everything from scratch. You could try the health food store or natural food section of a grocery store, but a lot of their stuff has honey. SB has a line of frozen dinners, but if you look at the ingredients, you'll see that a lot of their products do not follow their own guidelines. Try making a big batch of chili and freezing it in meal size portions.

When I have the time I homemake most of my stuff. I've got a great chili recipie I got from someone here on the board. I usually freeze some in serving size ziplocks for a later date. My family loves it. A little preparation of "legal" foods helps.
I use SBD meals only if I'm in a hurry and not too fussy/hungary or if I make the family pasta. I've cut back on them because of the sodium content.
