We were out all day doing errands, some business, some pleasure. Stopped by our favorite resale shop and found a blue tag sale. Emily snagged a lamb's wool and angora sweater for $3.50 and a few other things. I got a gorgeous car coat for $20. We took string cheese to ward off hunger pangs. Now it's off to dance class and Wal-mart. (Oh, joy.)

Hello Ladies: I hope everyone is getting ready for Thanksgiving. We are having a totally South Beach meal except for an apple pie that I am buying for my 5 yrs. old .
I am looking for a good green bean casserolle recipe so i am asking for help on this.
I decided to step on the scale only on MOndays and Thursdays. THis am it was showing 291 which pissed me off really bad and I almost ate bread but then i thought that doing that was going to give me only 30 seconds of pleasure on the other hand resisting the temptation was going to make me feel strong and powerfull for at least a couple of minutes.

B cottage cheese with a spoon of syrup ( that was all I had in the fridge)
S almonds
L lettuce, grilled chicken and 1 cup of Mexican beans
s two little pieces of steak
d i know i want some mashed potatoes ( made with cauliflower) but i have not figured the rest yet.

Yesterday I made a bean cake with white beans and I must have done something really wrong because it came out so bad that not even my dog wanted it.

I hope everyone survives this Thursday...Let's all go thru it being the best beachers we can be.

Hi everyone.........
Today was one of those days that had I not had my sugar craving under control I would have ate everything I could get my hands on!! Lots of work stress!!!!!! It makes such a difference having it under control. I did think about eating but it didn't overwhelm me. I didn't feel like I HAD to have something. It feels good to be back in control.
B - 2 eggs, phase 1 pancakes
L - Salad with ham and cheese, slice of bean cake
S - turkey pepperoni....and a taste of bean cake
D - turkey steak with peppers and onions, mixed veggies
S - Chocolate yogurt (phase 1 kind) hot tea

Hi all...

I have to say, I'm feelin pretty good right now, for the last 3 days, we have been under serious stress dealing with a family situation, the "old" me, would have eaten everything in sight AND went to Krispy Kreme, to calm myself. I made it throught the last 3 days with no cheating, not once!! I feel pretty good about that, after 8 days w/o sugar, I did not even want to "go there". I knew I might not come back this time. So today I am staying on plan and also having a SB Thanksgobbling!!

B-eggs/veggies
S-almonds/cheese
L-lettuce, beans, turkey, tom, olives, sour ceam, salsa
S-yogurt
D-"zucchini" spaghetti
d-1 ff/ss fudge pop

Wow...I'm working on my meal for Thanksgiving. So, without all the details on what I used and trying to be legal as possible, here's my plan:

Relish Tray w/stuffed celery, deviled eggs and mixed olives
Turkey
Bread/Herb Dressing*
Mashed Potatoes*
Scalloped Potatoes*
Mashed Fauxtatoes
Green Bean Casserole
Sweet Potato Casserole
Cranberry Fruit Salad
Layered Lettuce Salad
Pumpkin Pie*
Mince Pie*
Cherry Pie*
Pumpkin Pie w/Nut Crust
Coffee or Tea

Everything with * is for family. I am excited. I always love cooking Thanksgiving and this is the first time both kids are in college and are truly coming home. I don't want to have to do anything tomorrow afternoon except the potatoes and salads; the turkey on Thursday. I want to greet them tomorrow and have breakfast with them on Thursday. I miss 'em so much...Everyone have a wonderful Thanksgiving. God Bless.

Did my Curves weigh in today. Down a 2 pds and a couple of inches. I didn't expect much this month. My goal is just to maintain or lose slowly over the next month. I'm not going to stress about it, but I'm not going to let the holidays be an excuse for a free for all. I plan on going to Curves while I'm at my in-laws and walking if it's not too cold.... I'm a weenie, it's in the 70's here today and going to be in the 80's for Thanksgiving. Last time I went to Canada for Christmas we had over 2 feet of snow. Burrrrrrrrr.
Today, I've only had chicken caesar salad (both lunch and dinner). Ate no breakfast because I worked out and then had lunch at 11:00. Was hungry and had a headache by 3:00. Had some brownies left that I took to the hospital with me for my co-workers. I made one of the girls take them home with her, because I knew I'd eat them on the way home. Crisis averted. I stopped at the grocery store for a coffee (Starbucks) and got a piece of turkey and cheese and ate that in the car. I had caesar salad again for dinner because the family was having all left overs (recooked in different ways). Chicken pot pie, potato and beef hash, leftover spagetti and meatballs. Tuesday's is my Mom's day to cook and we had to clean out the fridge. We're still left with chicken pot pie.
We've got a traditional dinner planned for Thursday, but there will be plenty to eat. My problem is just eating too much of what I "can" eat. I hate feeling stuffed. At least there will be fewer desserts this time around.
Glad to hear everyone is finding better ways to handle stress. This is good progress.
Hope everyone has a great week/Thanksgiving.

Hi Gang!

Still hangin' in there, it has been rough though, people have been bringing lots of food in to work this week and although I did not eat what people brought in - I have been eating too much of the legal stuff. We took the kids to Friendly's after their black belt test on Saturday night & I ordered a chicken caeser wrap, not realizing that the chicken was fried Hopefully that didn't hurt me too much

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

It's the day after. How did everybody do? If you stayed on plan, good for you. If you fell off, GET BACK ON. Making turkey soup today for DH. It will go in the freezer for his lunches.

It's always so nice to get back to normal again after all the temptations. I made sure I had my regular breakfast and lunch before I went to my DIL's. We were very fortunate as what was served was not very high fat. I had a small amount of turkey white meat, a small portion of green salad with some veggies added and a whole sweet potato that was so sweet that I felt like I had dessert. It was a wonderful day being with DH's side of the family. I had a wonderful time playing with little Ella who is the newest addition to the family. What a cutie pie!

Sharon....WOW!!!!!!!!! I love seeing before and after pictures. It inspires me to "keep on keeping on"!! You look great!! I am so glad yesterday is over...as far as the food goes. It was a hard go, but hubby and I felt as if we handled it A Ok!! I did had a taste of dessert. I took our own SB phase 1 cheesecake. For those who maybe slipped up a little more than they planned, just jump back in! We are only human and will all goof up on occasion. It's when we goof up and DON"T get back on fast that we get into trouble.

Hi all...

Great thoughts, thanks...I did great yesterday, had one bite of my Mom's berry pie and it was all I wanted, very sweet after no sugar for 2 weeks! I was VERY prepared with my own food, so I did good. Being that it was at our house, I was in control. Now I hope to do good at Xmas, as we will not be home. I will, I will, Thanks for the support!

I know during this time of year life can become crazy. Everyone is using there skills now to stay on track and reaching there goal weight to the tee. I think you all need to think of something very special to give yourself as a reward for sticking to this way of eating. Nana is going to get into those size 18 jeans this I know. to you all and use this time to pamper you as you deserve it.

It's another beautiful day. We're still eating on leftovers. Another "problem" with this time of year is birthdays. DH and I had birthdays the day after Thanksgiving and he insists on a chocolate cake. The last couple of years Emily has made a flourless chocolate torte covered in ganache which is of the finest gourmet restaurant quality. Low in carbs, but high in calories. Emily's is the middle of Dec. Then various events, tea parties, gingerbread week-end next week, and on and on. We're surrounded by food. Last year I gained 8 lbs between Thanksgiving and New Years; not this year.

Whew, it's been quite a morning. Got up and ate, then headed out to the gym about an hour later. (hadn't been in two days). Worked out on the elliptical machine for an hour and did my weight lifting routine. Came home stinky and sweaty only to take on my downstairs powder room. I had taped it over the last two days and painted it a real pretty dusty rose. I am bushed. According to fit day I have burned all the calories that I have actually consumed today. I think I'm in the negative.... LOL. I think it will be hard to get out of bed tomorrow.... If I could just lose four more pds before I go to Canada on the 16th I'd be very happy.
Today thus far I've had:
B: 1 egg, 1 slice canadian bacon, 1.5 tlbs 2%fat cheese, and a pita.
L: tuna salad in a pita (made with water packed tuna, hardboiled eggs, sugar free relish and fat free miricle whip). Was too tired to stop and cut up lettuce and tomato.
S: sugar free butterscotch pudding with fat free whipped cream
D: either bbq or mexican, won't know till DH tells us after church tonight.
Goin to set up the Christmas tree tomorrow, will take all day I'm sure. Is anyone else decorating. We aren't even going to be home but my Mom will be here and we are hosting two parties in December before I go so decorate we will.....
Have a good weekend ya'll.
