Good morning everyone!
Rose - thanks so much for getting us started today! I have official lost 8.5 pounds doing strict phase 1 for two weeks! Yay me! I don't plan to add anything back just yet. I'm enjoying the results a little too much but eventually I'll add strawberries or occasionally some 100% whole wheat bread or pasta. I'm working late tonight so I know I won't get in a work out today. Instead I've been concentrating on taking the stairs at every opportunity. Here is my menu today: B: 1 small slice of Linda Sue's early sunrise breakfast (eggs, cheese, sausage, bacon, onion, peppers and mushrooms) S: 2 thin slices of 97% fat free smoked ham L: broccoli and cheese soup with a diet soda S: 15 cashews D: 1 slice of Linda Sue's deep dish pizza Have a great day everyone!!!

Hi, Lisa and Lynn,( and all who follow.) It's a GREAT day on the beach.
That's a great loss, Lisa. Lynn, I just read your post from last night. Oh boy, will those little bites add up. When you're as short as we are, one mindless extra handful of nuts or a couple of bites while you're cooking will put you over the top. It finally dipped under 70 degrees this morning. Maybe fall is on the way. We're off today, Emily has a late dance class, so more house cleaning today. |

Bad day here for me. Woke up with major muscle spasms on the left lower side of my back. I was in tears coming down the stairs this morning. My dh is out of town. I was able to get a dr's appointment for 12:00. She ruled out anything neurological and gave me stuff for pain and muscle spasms. I'm glad my Mom was here to take me to the dr's. Will post menu's tomorrow....
The doctor said I could walk on flat surfaces but no Curves for the week. Dang it. |

He is suck a great cook but he always cooks the bad things. Friday I was up three pounds. I'm trying hard to keep it together but bring so new to sbd has bad it very very hard for me. I keep telling myself that tomorrow is a new day and keep trying. Tonight I am cooking so it will be south beach friendly. Thanks for listening. lisa-why to go on the lose Joli- I hope you feel better. My hubby has problems with his back so we both feel for you. |

Hello ladies!
I have been here before but then kind of strayed back to a modified Atkins. I did Atkins for many years but over time I have lowered the fat. But this time I need to get back here. I was recently diagnosed wth breast cancer and have been doing a lot of reading on diet. They all seem to recommend very low fat with no sugar, white flour white stuff etc. That is not a problem, I've done that for years, but now I really need to get serious about less fat. "They" recommend 20% fat, which I think is going to be REALLY hard, but I think starting here on SB again will be a good start. I'd like to join you guys as I go down this road. OK? For today I had: B: steel cut oatmeal, 1/4 cup blueberries, 1/4 c soymilk s: 2% cheese stick L: spicy black bean soup, 1/2 light flatout s: 1/2 apple D: 3 oz chicken breast, 1/2 c. wild rice. So, I hope to do the daily check-ins and will welcome any advice! -Patt

Hi everyone. Been a busy Monday, but I've been good on my water! I made 2 liters every day, but was a little late starting on Sunday, and had to get up twice to pee...hopefully I don't make that mistake again next weekend...getting comfy with this big belly and the baby waking up every time I do isn't easy, and I can use all the sleep I can get at this point.
I have a midwife appointment tomorrow, and then I have one every week until the baby gets here!!! It's going by so quickly. .. I am cloth diapering, and received my little tiny diapers today - how exciting...they're adorably cute, and oh so soft. I can't wait to be all ready for this little tyke. Eating was marginal today - I gave into the M&M's at the office, but I did pretty well all weekend, so I don't feel terrible about it or anything. |

Good morning everyone!
It's so nice to see our thread so busy with old and new faces. I'm doing well today. Much better than yesterday. TOM is right around the corner and I was feeling so sad yesterday. It was a "ponytail" day as my boss calls it. When she comes in the office and sees me with a ponytail she knows I'm having a bad day! She was relieved to see my hair is nice and coffed today so that means a good day! Ha! I am not going to weigh for the next few days (yes I am one of those obsessed people that needs to know what I weigh every morning, I know it's bad but it helps keep me on track). I'm going by how my clothes fit. All my size 10 and 12 stuff has been either unbearably tight or doesn't fit at all. I can at least get all my stuff up and on even if I can't sit in it! So that's progress. Here is my menu: B: Linda Sue's early sunrise breakfast (1 slice) S: 2 thin slices of 97% fat free smoked ham L: grilled chicken salad with light ranch dressing S: 10 whole cashews D: rotissorie chicken and leftover baked cauliflower Exercise: 45 minute intermediate step class at the gym Patt - I'm so sorry for your illness. We are here to cheer you on with your healthy eating habits. Lynne - let us know how kind the scale has been to you! Ally - back away from those M&Ms girlie!!! My boss has not one, not two, but three jars of M&Ms in her office. Now that is just not right. Thankfully, I'm back in the zone and they don't even phase me. I love it when I'm off the crack, I mean sugar! Brandy - it's hard when it comes to Dad and his home cooking. I had to gently remind my father that I have lost a considerable amount of weight and that I would appreciate it if he could accommodate my new eating style. He is so proud of my progress that at the last family gathering he paid for everyone to have NY strip steaks instead of the rice and/or pasta seafood dishes he would usually make. And fruit for dessert instead of sugary stuff. Anyway, just do the best you can. Tomorrow is another day! Rose - thanks for keeping our thread going. We really appreciate all your hard work! Have a beachy day ladies!!! |

I'm just back from the gym - what a wonderful step work out! I've been thinking about giving up the gym because of tight finances but when I take class like today, I just hate to give it up.
I wanted to take a moment and thank everyone for checking in. I know we can't all do personals because of limited time but it's great reading about everyone's progress! Okay, back to work for me now! |

*#@&%*!!!
The computer system at the library crashed this afternoon and I MEAN crashed! We had to check patrons in and out manually, which means writing the barcodes down on a blinking piece of paper. Any time we tried to doing anything, the *#@$%!!! things shut themselves off. Of course, the catalogue is computerized. Soooo looking forward to tomorrow. ![]() Last edited by rose1; 09-26-2006 at 10:24 PM.. |

Good morning all. I'm still in a fair amount of pain. Eating a little of this and that. Haven't walked in three days so I got out and walked less than a mile today on a flat surface. I haven't gained any weight and TOM's almost over. I may go for a massage today and see if that helps.
Yesterday I ate: B: oatmeal with a little milk L: tuna salad in a pita S: cashews-too many, bite of poptart- got dd wondering? D: backed chicken breast and salad. sugar free banana pudding for dessert I'm off to the couch with the heating pad and ice pack... |

Joli - I hope you feel better soon. I know what you mean about those cashews. I have to count them out and not let myself keep putting my hand back in the jar. Who knew I liked nuts so much. And we won't talk about the extra nuts I had on my sugar free sundae last night. Gotta leave those puppies alone!
Gals - I'm going to be making some of the cheese cake muffins everybody is raving about on the recipe board. I'm attending a baby shower for my sister Saturday and I want to make a batch to take as an alternative to having cake. Anyway, I'm going to test a batch tonight - will even have a peanut butter crust on the bottom and I'm going to top them with strawberries. We'll see how they turn out. I gotta get off this sugar free sundae kick and I'm hoping these little cheese cakes will help! Will report back tomorrow on how they turned out. |

Good morning gals!
Just checking in! TOM is right around the corner and I weighed today. Not too shabby but official weigh in day is Sunday so we'll see where I am then. I'm hoping for 1/2 pound per week and anything over that is just a bonus! I didn't try to the cheesecake muffins last night. Did the grocery shopping and was just too tired to bake but will try them out Friday night and just wing it taking a batch to the shower if they turn out okay. Here is my menu for today: B: 2 scrambled eggs with a slice of low fat cheese and 2 small sausage patties S: 2 thin slices of 97% fat ham L: 3 hot dogs (no bun) and a diet soda S: 12 whole cashews D: leftover beef stroganoff over 1/2 cup of long grain converted rice Work out: 45 minute advanced Step class at the gym Carol - glad you're joining us! Phase 2 is a great place to start. Lynn - you're doing a great job! I've got to get in more water. Maybe I'll start adding it to my stats too. Have a Beachy day ladies and I'll be back later! |

Hi gals!
I'm checking in for the day. Doing well. I even joined a semi-challenge on the main board where a bunch of us are taking one food item from our diet that we know is keeping us from getting to goal. It should be interesting. I'm cutting out my sugar free treats (ice cream and candies) starting Monday. I use these as a crutch so it will be interesting to see if I can get away from them. Here is my menu: B: 1-1/2 slices of Linda Sue's Early Sunrise Breakfast S: no morning snack - late breakfast instead L: broccoli and cheese soup S: maybe 12 cashews D: 2 grilled sirloin burger patties with low fat cheese, mushrooms and onions Exercise: Extreme Abs and Kickboxing Class at the gym I hope everyone has a beachy day! I won't be able to check in over the weekend because our hard drive crashed yesterday and a tech won't be out until Monday or Tuesday to fix it. Sigh. Of course I didn't have all our stuff backed up so I'm going to lose about half my songs for my ipod and my digital pics. Sigh. Oh well, I've learned my lesson, I'll back stuff up more faithfully from now on! |

Good morning all. I managed to get out and walk for about 35 minutes this morning. Flat surfaces. It felt to get out and get moving. I'm still pretty sore around the left side of my lower back. I haven't lost anything in about 10 days, haven't gained either so I suppose thats good. After losing 14 pds last month I was kinda hoping the trend would continue. But I guess with TOM passing through and my sore back it isn't going to happen. I haven't recorded my fitday stuff in several days but I'm trying to be good.
Yesterday I ate: B: latte with a breakfast taco,, bad no no L: Chili made with a recipie from this board S: sugar free pudding with whipped topping D: more chili (family and mashed potatoes and chicken and dumplings). small slice chocolate cake (wasn't worth it). I'm at the weight I was when I lost three years ago and kinda quit losing. I'm hoping to get past that and lose more. My doctor thinks my goal may be hard to get to, but I'm hoping. Hope everyone has a good weekend. |

Good Morning!
Mom's here at the library today, and I'm on my way to the dance school for an extra vocal rehearsal for our upcoming Christmas show. Lisa, that does sound interesting - good luck! JoLi, glad you're able to walk a bit, sometimes just getting moving perks me up enough to start feeling better. Hope you all have a great day! ![]() |
