Phase 1 Question

I'm at the end of week one of phase 1 and I had a question for any veterans out there. I did a 60 minute spin class this morning and felt so shaky and sick afterwards and ended up eating some fruit to help with the bad feeling (which helped keep me from passing out). I wore a heart rate monitor during class and burned an insane amount of calories...my question is this: How do high intensity exercisers deal with the depletion after a workout without going off plan?

Thanks in advance and sorry for the question that I'm sure has been asked before-I'm just very new to this lack of carbs.

Eat. Have a light snack before exercising, maybe a whey protein drink. Or yogurt. Have something like celery stuffed with Laughing Cow cheese after. It really wouldn't be the end of the world to eat some fruit, but always have it with some protein. It is suggested that athletes start with phase 2 and spin classes might qualify.
