Hi All! I guess I'm one of those who is just falling off the radar this Summer.
TOM is just ending and my weight has been up and down like mad over the past week. I know its all my own doing. Think I've lost the same four pounds three times this month. Just think if that was REAL losses I'd be at my GOAL instead of...well enough of that.I've been exercising pretty regularly. Biking with the family is sort of tough (gotta keep everyone together on the trail) but still lots of fun. The Abs diet exercises are not going to well. I need to watch someone do them not just see a still picture in a book and read a description. I'm going to keep at it though. My new fridge is coming this afternoon! Can't wait. I stopped by Home Depot last week and just stood in front of the display model smiling. I know its crazy that a refrigerator can make me so giddy, but its really pretty, and cool and soooooo much better than my old one!I was noticing how many of you are taking some sort of classes. That's great! I'm still looking in to finishing my teaching degree. I'll have a better idea next week. I'm a little leary of doing it because of the lack of jobs in my area, but never know till you try. Right? Rose-what are roasted peaches and magic rolls? Hope everyone has a great day!

Hello Kirsten! The roasted peaches are very simple, and so good! They literally melt in your mouth, almost like honey.
I either cut them in half, or chop them, depending on what we're doing with them. If we're eating them plain, I cut them in half. If I'm putting them with something else, like the custard, I chop them. (Usually! )I put the halves cut side up in a glass baking dish, and put a small piece of butter and a tiny bit of brown sugar on them. Sometimes I add a few chopped walnuts as well. Bake at 425 for about 1/2 an hour, until they are soft. If I chop them, I melt butter and a tiny bit of brown sugar and pour it over the chopped peaches, in a glass baking dish. Bake at 425 for about 15 minutes. I'll post the roll recipe when I get home. It's a Protein Power recipe, from the Eades' new cookbook. They are made from wheat gluten, low in carbs, and high in protein. It's the first "bread" recipe I've tried that turn out tasting like bread and don't take a lot of time or special ingredients. ![]() |

Kirsten ~ I know what you mean about the fridge we bought a new about 2 years ago and when DH went to buy it I was SOOO EXCITED..I kept thinking isn't this silly to be excited over a fridge but I love my fridge
I ate yogurt for breakfast..I am restarting south beach after a few months off..my son wrecked my digital scale and I went into a slippery slope..so I bought a new one and both of the cookbooks which should be here soon and started over I can't wait for the cookbooks isn't that silly?!

Hello everyone. Been a busy morning. I got my walk and Curves exercises in this morning first thing. After my shower my son and I got busy making lunch. I attended the first of three cooking classes last night. We made tortilla soup, olive tamenode and Cuban guava pasteries. My Mom loves tortilla soup so my son and I made the tortilla soup and pasteries. The soup is all legal if you omit the tortillas. It was very good, spicy. You have to use puff pastry dough for the other. I guess I left it out too long because it was hard to unroll. Put we kept at it. We used guava paste and cream cheese in each square of pastry and rolled it up and sealed it. I experimented with some strawberries and chocolate chips and some peanut butter and chocolate chips (for my son). I did eat a couple, they were good. Tonight the class is on crab cakes, some appitizer with artichokes, and chocolate expresso brownies. I may be in trouble.
I ate pretty good yesterday but did have chips in my soup and a couple of the pasteries. I know I'm going to try everything tonight. I may just have to get out and walk extra hard tomorrow. Kristen, my Mom bought us a new side by side fridge when we moved into our new house last year. I love it. However it is kinda small for the five of us. We kept our old one and put it in the garage. Thats were we keep the cold drinks and extra groceries like butter, milk and stuff. The combination works well. Have a great day ya'll. I'll let you know about tonights class tomorrow.
