Anyone on extended Phase I and eating tiny amounts of low glycemic fruit?

Such as strawberries, blueberries, cherries, etc., and still losing well? I don't think I can tolerate summer without a bit of summer fruit. I have a LOT to lose, and have switched to SB from a low-glycemic diet. I lost 50 pounds doing very low glycemic then got stuck. I think I need a bit more structure, which SB provides. I've overcome, pretty much, my difficulty with giving up "real" cheese, eating mostly mozzarella with a tiny bit of very sharp cheddar occasionally. But I'm a big fruit lover (the reason I gave up Atkins). Just wondering if anyone else was on an extended Phase I, eating an occasional small amount of fruit, possibly in combo with a protein, and still losing well.

Hi razberry, if you want to start adding fruit then you are automaticly in phase 2 which is just fine. You will still loss weight as that phase is where you do most of your weight loss. By all means have some fruit slowly added into your phase 1 foods. You will be right on plan and going into the next phase. Good luck to you.

We call it Phase 1.5. By all means, add fruit!

OK, great!! I think for supper I'll have baked chicken, green beans, and 1 big strawberry with Splenda sprinkled on it. That will definately keep me satisfied. Thanks so much! Okay....I'm in Phase 1.5 indefintely...(well, for the next 100 pounds!).

That's great! You really don't need to be afraid to add in the good things. Look at Sharon's stats for example. What an inspiration!

well phase one is really to rid your body of the dependance on sugar and junk food. Phase 2 is important I believe to your health because you should be eating some whole grains as well. You don't lose weight as fast in phase 2 as you can in phase 1 but it is better for your body to pace your weight loss. Then if you get too out of hand you can return to phase one to get back on track. So in conclusion (hehe) i think eating some fruits is perfectly okay because it is what your suppossed to do. :o)
