The Spring Cave at Jack Daniel's Distillery, Lynchburg, TN

Good Morning everyone!

We are officially back on plan, after a period of not quite behaving ourselves. Let us say that we weren't all the way off the wagon, but we were standing on the side board! Mom and I have both re-gained several pounds, so we're catching it while we still can, and climbing back onto the wagon seat. We've had a good clean weekend, so now we just have to continue on the road.

Thankfully though, we have a good goal date/reward coming up that we can work toward. At the end of October, we are travelling to Louisville to see one of my favorite singers, an Irish Tenor named Anthony Kearns, in concert, and we will be attending the reception afterward.
Naturally, we want to look our best for this, so it will be good motivation! I have a gorgeous black sequined top, size Small, that I want to wear and look good in, which is further motivation.

Our goal is to stay on plan until then, not necessarily cheat-free, but definitely on plan. If we stray for a special occasion, we are going straight back. If we decide to eat chocolate, as we are quite apt to do, we are going to have 1 or 2 small squares of good dark chocolate, and be done with it for a while. This is what we were doing when we were having good, steady weightloss, so we're going back to it!

Thanks for reading this - we usually don't post this sort of thing, but this time I really think it will help us stay accountable.

Now, how's everyone doing today??? Drink your water!

On Plan until

Hi All,

Congrats on getting back on the wagon, Rose. I cheated yesterday and today I realized I was really really distracted. It was like an ADD cartoon. I know carbs are not good for me in particular. I was diagnosed with ADD within the last few years and decided not to take the medicine anymore.

I'm going to ease into P2 in the next few days - just going to start with some fruit for a week or so. Strawberries were on sale at Safeway!

Here was my menu for today:
tea with milk and liquid splenda
a few peanuts
a slice of american
tried mock danish and failed - I don't really like eggs.
some bacon (i know i know) and tomato
cauliflower popcorn (yum!)
half a SF peppermint patty (weird i know)

Happy Monday!

Good morning all. It's going to be a warm one here today. Got my walking and Curves workout done this morning.
My menu yesterday was:
B: 1 egg, one piece candian bacon, a couple tables spoons reduced fat shredded cheese, a piece of 7 grain bread, and milk. I make an open face egg sandwhich.
S:
L: turkey with laughing cow light cheese
S: SBD cranberry/almond cereal bar (not as good as the cinnomon rasin)
D: green beans and grilled chicken with low carb KC Masterpiece BBQ sauce.
S: two sugar free popcicles
My Mom made a lemon pudding pound cake with lemon icing for dessert last night. It is an awesome cake. I rapidly made sugar free, fat free, cheese cake pudding and had a few strawberries with it. The only problem was I had put Spenda on the strawberries and when I ate the pudding and strawberries together it tasted sharp, but if I ate either one by itself it was O.K. I wonder if the two sweetners were working against each other??

Quest, what is cauliflower popcorn?
Rose, I love the picture.
Have a great day ya'll

Good morning Rose and Barbara, Amy, Lynn, Joli and all who follow today. I'm back on the wagon again too!

School is out and we'll be keeping our grandson who is 12 so things will be a little different and I really need to stay focused.

Hope everyone has a good one!

Hi Joli,

Cauliflower popcorn doesn't taste like popcorn, but it is delicious. I got the recipe from my non-low carb skinny friends a few months ago and didnt try it until yesterday. It's completely legal even though it's delicious.

It's easy to do other than taking a long time. You cut up cauliflower into big florets, toss with olive oil, salt, pepper, and roast in a single layer at 425 for almost an hour, checking and flipping the cauliflower every 10 or 15 min.

There is a similar recipe on LindaSue's website, but I like my friend's simple salt and olive oil seasonings instead of adding Mrs. Dash and splenda. But check out LindaSue's site for a picture or you won't believe how brown it is supposed to get.

Try it, you'll like it!

I have been so good today - I ordered a chicken dish to go for lunch and didn't realize it came with fries until I opened it. I was hungry, so I was like one real potato fry in P2 won't kill me. But then I decided to eat the chicken and veggies first and I left the fries! Didn't even touch one.

I swear the cauliflower is better. Expensive, though.

Hey everyone!
Good to have you back Marvi!
Its been a pretty lousy weekend here. I spent a lot of time sleeping, just can't shake this cold. I cancelled my gyn appointment this morning, I don't look forward to that on a good day and today....
Last night while my 5yo DS was supposed to be brushing his teeth I walk in and find him jumping on the scale! He says he does it all the time 'cause he like to see the letters (we've got to work on letters vs. numbers) bounce! No wonder the crazy thing is never "zero-ed" and I step on and off four or five times and get four or five different weights! Gotta love the kid for finding joy in unexpected places!
Stayed on plan pretty well since friday. Ate a the chinese buffet yesterday after church. It was pretty tough picking out something to eat, but I think I did alright.
Hope Monday is good for everyone.

HAHA! That is cute. OMG I admire your sense of humor, but I would be furious and really impatient. I'm definitely not ready for kids.

Joli, what part of TX are you in? I am from Dallas.

Not a bad day on the beach. Have I mentioned lately that I really appreciate all the support given on these threads? Thanks folks. You really help.

Food:

B – Oatmeal, Moroccan Mint Green Tea (unless otherwise stated, when I say Oatmeal I mean ½ cup oatmeal cooked in 1 cup skim milk garnished with Splenda brown sugar and cinnamon)
S – cupful of popcorn
L – Spinach salad w/ turkey, tomato, ff cheese shreds, blue cheese dressing
S – Pistachios
D – Turkey smoked sausage, peppers and onions stir fry w/ ½ cup ricotta cheese

Exercise:
35 minutes of stepping

I got off my lazy butt and started exercising today. I bought one of those step exercise thingees and it came with a dvd. I watched it when we first bought it and thought, “Huh. I can do that.” Seems I can’t. The spandex chick and her chicklets go so fast it was all I could do to keep up with the basic step, as my kids would say it was “hecka” hard. I did work up quite a sweat so I don’t consider it a total loss. I do remember why I don’t like “jump and jiggle” classes though. As soon as school is out I plan to start hitting the gym again. I much prefer getting my cardio from the elliptical machine. But I AM going to master that stupid step dvd. My goal is to have the routine down by the end of summer. It's good to have goals!
