Anyone use bean flour to make bread?
I have seen recipes using garbanzo bean flour, but I'm not allowed to eat them due to their impairment of fertility. Wondering if another bean substitute would do? Anyone make bread using beans or bean flour?

Bob's Red Mill makes pea flour and white bean flour and they have recipes on the website. You can sub those. I know there is black and red bean flour. Not sure how those would sub. Are you looking for gluten free recipes or just something different?

Thanks!
I'm just trying to stay away from grains, even whole grains. They blow me up like a toad in the mid-section. Plus, I despise soy taste. I'll check out the bean flours. I just started back on South Beach after going from Atkins, so my own version of Atkins/SB, basically low-glycemic. I've been stuck for awhile so I think I need to go on strict SB. I'm starting Phase I now. Looking to make a decent Phase I bread. Thanks so much!

Garbanzo beans are extremely high in galactose, which are damaging to eggs. Morse in those who are sensitive to it, but also to those in the general population. Coffee is also very high. Other beans have some, but not nearly as much as garbanzo beans. If you look up a sight for galactose and fertility, you'll get lists of the foods to avoid.
