Good Morning!! oh if only i could knit.! Went to bar b q yesterday, at least 20 lovely desserts. several mouth watering congealed salads. I by passed them all, but did over do a bit on the mixed nuts. Still consider myself as not cheating tho. Didn't exceed 20 carbs, altho most of my carbs came frm the nuts. Todays grill out will be easier because its here and i'm in control of the desserts. LC cheese cake!!
Hope everyone has a wonderful day. 5 weeks today, down 20 lbs

Hi Everyone,
Going to a BBQ today and hopefully I will be in full control of what I eat. I am taking along a fried brown rice with cabbage, bell peppers and onions. I made it here a few days ago and it was a winner.

We grilled last night and I was totally good. Even decided to have half of a whole wheat hot dog bun with my sausage.

Good luck to All and have a great day!

Good morning to you all.
Got my walk and exercises in. Very humid here today, almost waited too long to get out.
I've tried to plan out today's menu:
B: cinnomon rasin bar, milk
L: turkey with laughing cow low fat cheese, small salad
D: boneless pork ribs, salad, brocolli
My brother is coming in today to install ceiling fans for me. It's great having a jack of all trades brother....
Have a good day ya'll. Stay safe, eat well.

Happy Memorial Day!

Doing well and sticking to plan. Took my daughter to the beach yesterday and got in some boogie boarding...what fun! Still exhausted this morning though It is another beautiful day and we are trying to decide what to do

I have a question to throw out there..

Can we eat Triscuits? I love the Rosemary and Olive Oil variety and wondered if it is on plan?

Wish you all a fabulous day!!!

Plain Triscuits are ok in small amounts.

The Rosemary ones have maltodextrin, which is a sugar and is absorbed as rapidly as glucose. One serving is 28 grams, which would be about 10 triscuits, and has 20 carbs. They are also very salty and if you tend to retain water could cause problems. If you can limit them to about 1/2 a serving with a meal, or have 3-4 with some cheese as a snack, that would be better. I would consider this a "personal choice." We all have "personal choices"; for example, we eat stone ground corn tortillas. Corn is to be avoided or eaten rarely. We eat two about every other week and are prepared to deal with the consequences.

Happy Memorial Day Beachers!

Today has been pretty good for me diet wise. Menu is:
B: deli baked ham w/cream cheese and fresh pepper
L: taco salad (meat, romaine, spinach, cheddar, sour cream)
D: chicken stir fry (chicken, broccoli, peppers, onion, zucchini and seasonings)
S: SF jello with homemade whip topping and a sprinkling of chopped walnuts
Lots of water and Diet Rite

Tomorrow I go to take my GED pre-test and I'm pretty nervous about failing math and looking like a moron. My boyfriend keeps reminding me that it's not graded so I can't fail. That isn't helping my anxiety though.

Have a super day everyone!!

Hi Rose...

Thanks for the Triscuit info. I just like the Rosemary & Olive Oil ones so I think I will just have a couple with a string cheese every now and then for a snack until the box runs out. I will need to find something that is good to replace them. I really want to only eat things that are good for me...and if I am going to eat something that really is not on plan, it will be better than a Triscuit!! Ha, ha,ha!!

Pita, best of luck on your GED! I am sure you will do great, just try to keep your nerves calm...do a lot of intentional deep breathing and just keep telling yourself you are going to pass! The power of positive thinking will always work!!

JoLi...where in Central Texas do you live? I lived there for about 8 years. I married a Texan and lived in Temple and Eddy just off I 35. I have been back in Cali since the end of 2000. Don't miss the humidity or bugs one bit!! But really miss the people and the wonderful southern hospitality!

Talk to you later!

Wow the weekend went fast! Camping in the great outdoors will do that to you, yeah? And we had all kinds of weather. Seriously, we had snow, sleet, rain, wind, fog and sunshine – not necessarily in that order. It was very fun. We got in a hike, probably 2 miles total. And I’m quite proud to say I did pretty darn good sticking to the Beach.

Food for Sat.

B – oatmeal and coffee
L – Romaine salad w/ turkey, tomato, ff cheese and almonds
S – Pistachios
D – Pork chop and asparagus

Food for Sun

B – 2 eggs over easy, 2 slices turkey bacon, 6oz V8, coffee
S – cheese stick and beef jerky
L – A wrap made w/ ww tortilla, pastrami, rf cheese, tomato & lettuce
D – Grilled chicken, green beans, strawberries w/ sugar free pudding
S - A coffee cup full of popcorn (I succumbed to it’s evil lure)

Food for Mon

B – 2 eggs over easy, 3 slices turkey bacon, coffee
L – Veggie pizza & diet coke
S – beef jerky, pistachios
D – Romaine salad w/ tomato, blue cheese and white beans, blue cheese dressing

We stopped for lunch on our way home today at a local place on the road. We ordered a medium ½ cheese, ½ veggie. It came to 3 slices for each of us. I ate about 2 bites of crust on each piece and didn’t eat the rest. I know it was naughty, but dang it was good. I think overall I did well. Guess I’ll find out on Wednesday Weigh In Day, huh?

Rose - Thanks for taking over the moderating. I'm glad we are keeping this going. It really helps me.

Pita - Hang in there girl, you'll do just fine.

JuneBug, Flash, JoLi and Kammie - WTG, keeping beachy during all the festivities! We are an awesome bunch.

I’m pretty tired and I still have a load of laundry to get ready for tomorrow. See all you beachy babes then!
