''I was searching and searching for the answer to this one, refried beans are bad for both phases? and why? I also noticed some ppl using brown sugar, thats ok??"
Hi, Melissa, Saw this on yesterday's thread. Refried beans are a no-no because they contain lard, but you can use the vegetarian or no fat kind. Brown sugar is also a no-no. Sugar twin makes a brown sugar thing, but I'm not sure if it is half sugar and half sugar twin. Splenda has something like that. Maybe that's what people are using. I still would say it's not legal. However, a tsp or so probably wouldn't hurt. We lived at Lake Hughes for 3 yrs. Talk about a trip to the store! Where do you live?

hi everyone its been a week since i was here last. Dh got through his surgery without complications and is recovering slowly. I found that two days of sitting at the hospital, while I did not cheat or anything, perhaps stalled my weight loss? I stepped on the scale last Saturday and was shocked to see a gain! I have spent the whole week attempting to correct that. I am doing the best I can with the food we have stocked in the house, but I suspect that I need to stick to perhaps chicken breast for a while rather than the other stuff I have been eating. Anyway, I have a weigh in tonight and we shall see what happens.

Hi everyone!
I see a lot of people using brown sugar, the splenda kind too, on other threads. It is half sugar. It is not for south beach. Some people say they still lose, which is fine, but it will start cravings . So be careful. For people wanting a grocery list, and do not have the book, the stickys are really a great help. I copied them way before I got my book to read and followed it. I had all my groceries, and had started South Beach woe about a week before my book arrived. Krib, great to hear dh is doing fine. ![]()

Good morning all. Well, exercising is done for the day. This is the first day of the kids summer vacation. It was so tempting to sleep in but I got up at 8:00 and went for my long walk with my neighbor...I really didn't feel like going today but I made myself.
I don't know what my menu plan will be today. My dd is having friends over tonight and they will be ordering pizza. I bought a SBD pizza the other day, I may try it just to stay away from the other. Does anyone eat the SBD meals, bars, cereals? I'm kinda mopey today about my weight. The scale hasn't shown any movement this week. I'm going to wiegh on the scale at Curves tomorrow and see if it's the same way there. I guess it's good that it's not showing an increase right. Kenrib-glad to hear your dh is doing O.K. Have a good day ya'll.

About a couple months ago I did buy the brkst bars because I was on the run for a whole week and did not have the time to make a brkst. They were ok, as far as weight stalling I do not know because I have been stuck at this weight for over a month.

We live in Antelope Acres. Its not really THAT far from town, its just an inconveince when you have a 5 month old. lol so on the map I am 10 miles away from the grocery store and 20 miles from book stores and other stores. When I do get out I usually goto super walmart so I dont gotta travel all over and its 20 miles.
b 2 eggs, can bacon, diet v8, coffee s yogurt l SBD seseme beef (the frozen dinners are great) s some nuts, diet v8 d. Pork chop, zucchinis s. sugar free pop so far so good. I got the book yesterday. Going to read it some today. I also got phase I and Phase II cook books. Didnt realize they werent necessarily for SBD. Just low carb. I couldnt resist them cuz they were on clearance for $3 each lol If anyone wants a recipe lemmie know LOL there are TONS in there!

Good morning beach gals!
It's been a while but last night was a good one without venturing to the kitchen. This mornings weigh in was not so good as I was up some from all the late night kitchen trips. I'm not going to beat myself up just begin today and not look back. I will get to goal. I'm determind now! This morning started off good with my usual OldF. oatmeal with some peanut butter and my fruit of choice was an apple. I'm into my gallon jug of water and have almost half of that gone. We are getting some wind on the Central Coast but still plan to get some type of walk in today. Hope everybody is doing good and staying on program. I'm making it a perfect day!

I still have my cold.
The scale hasn't moved much, somewhere between 1/2 pound and 1lb, but I'm seeing changes in my body. Today I'm wearing jeans that I haven't been able to wear for 2 years. Yesterdays menu: coffee, with 2oz skim milk, equal 1 string cheese (I wasn't hungry) 1 large egg, 1 oz 2% milk, 1 slice reduced fat cheese, 1 slice Canadian bacon 1 cup green beans, 1/3 cup baked beans South Beach Frozen Dinner, beef with cheesy broccoli 1/4 C Ricotta w/ vanilla, almond and cocoa and an equal A TheraFlu. My Mom arrives tonight. She's going to stay with my brother for two nights because I don't want to get her sick. Then she's here until June 4th. ![]() |

Good Afternoon Beachers!
Sheila, I just love coming here and seeing what picture you have up for us. Today's is beautiful!! Thank you Well, so far I have had a very good day. I made the best chicken for lunch. I took skinless breast and sprinkled it with all the seasonings you would use for tacos and then cooked it on the Foreman and when it was done I topped it with whole jalapenos that had been seeded and split down the middle and low-fat Jack cheese. Popped that in the oven until the cheese was all melty. This one is a total keeper in my book!! I was bad and finished off the three squares of Hershey's extra dark chocolate that I have been slowly nibbling away on. The problem was that since I knew it was in the house my mind agonized for it. I told my Sweetie that there is to be no chocolate allowed in the house until I reach goal. He agrees and plans to help me remember I said that. I hope you ya'll have a great evening!! ![]()

hi everyone,
i have been traveling for work the last couple of days and havent been able to post. i was worried about my options while out and about. but ive been good. yesterday when i was on the road i was thinking 'im going to cheat im goign to cheat!' i was in a rush and obviously hungry and pretty much decided to go off plan, but i didnt and im glad. the scale finally moved! re: the hershey's dark - they were giving samples at costco two days ago and i took one and put it in my purse. i coudnt resist taking one, but thankfully im not tempted to eat it. i really like this woe!!! i think i like not being in ketosis. the transition made me light headed, etc. and i couldnt really do anything. but i am happy so far on this woe. i do think 'am i ever going to have a frappucino again?' but don't relaly crave one. but i obviously have emotional attachments to food. hope all is well with you all..

It’s a late Thursday check in for me. Wednesday was bad hormone-wise and I took to my bed early with new best friend the heating pad. I did manage to stay away from the chocolate and stay the course.
Let’s see food for Wednesday: B – Oatmeal, juice and black coffee L – Mixed greens salad w/ tuna, tomatoes and ranch S – A handful of almonds (I didn’t count them) D – Fish fillets (the frozen kind) and green beans S – Strawberries w/ ff cool whip I got my water in, I’m always happy to do that. Food for Thursday: B – Omelet w/onions, gr. peppers, mushrooms and ham, 2 slices cantaloupe, black coffee L – Mixed greens salad w/ turkey, tomato, ff cheese and ff Thousand Island D – Grilled tilapia, mushrooms and onions, sugar snap peas My work had a staff appreciation breakfast and I probably ate too much with the HUGE omelet and I had guilt about the cantaloupe. It was darn good though. I know it doesn’t look like I ate much but I was full all day long. And I drank all my water. Oh and the boy got 100% on our book report. ![]()

I just wanted to say I love Boston Market. I went there today after a long time and the chicken was delicious. The green beans were also good. I wish I had one close by.
I hope that was legal!! |
