I'm Back

Hello Beachers !!

It's been a while, and I need to come back.

I've been struggling with some family issues and the diet has gone totally out the window. I am an emotional eater.

I am so embarassed about how much weight I've gained. I am fat and ugly. My summer clothes from last year do not fit. I do not want to socialize with skinny people. People who I havent seen in a while are looking at my belly and probably thinking "is she pregnant or just fat?" I've had one stranger aske me "when are you due?"

I've hit rock bottom and need to climb out of the whole and FAST.

I will be shopping on Tuesday (payday), but wont be pigging out until then (another bad habit of mine)

It's been a while since I've been on the Beach (tried to go back on Atkins, then had some medical issues soon after so I quit)

If you could give me some of your favorite P1 dishes, secrets, etc, I'd appreciate it

Thanks,
Reg

Hi Reg,

We've got a good little group here, for shoulders and keeping ourselves honest. Please join our check ins.

The thing that saved me the first week was the cheese cake recipe at the top of this forum. It kept me from going bonkers looking for things I couldn't have.

The formula was explained to me as: 2-6 ounces of lower fat protein, 1 1/2 - 2 cups of veggies, which should include 1/3 - 1/2 of legume beans like kidney, pinto or red. (I've been doing beans baked in tomato sauce and straining the sauce off)

I found a product called Grizzly Joe's Tequila Lime spice. No Carbs, no sugar, no MSG. I marinate boneless, skinless chicken breasts in it and then grill them. It's good stuff.

Hi Reg and back!!

Bobbie is right that it's a good group here and we are all so supportive. I think I'm one of the newbies and I'm really enjoying the check-in thread and learning from the other members.

I'm doing phase 1 right now and my secret is to stick with the program. No cheating!! Lots of water!

Good luck to you.

Hey, Reg! We are SO glad to see you back. We were just thinking about you.

One of our favorite recipes is the breakfast quiche. It's good anytime of day. Remember the water challenge? Maybe we need to do that again!

I'm starting to feel a little crazy.

I ate dinner, but I'm still hungry, but I'm full

Gotta drink some more water.....bbl.

Eat string cheese. How about some hot tea. That's comforting for me.

I don't know which way to go but I need to decide -- Atkins or South Beach??? I too no longer fit in last summer's clothes! I quit smoking in March which only made the weight gain worse. I think everyone knows what they should and should not eat -- sticking to plan is the hardest part. Why??? I know what you mean about "I'm full but I'm hungry". Is there some other emptyiness needing to be filled? What drives us to eat too much? Some people just make the wrong choices and gain weight, others knowingly choose wrong because they can't help it -- that's me! HELP!!!
