~*~ Weekend Check-in Thread 4/22-4/23 ~*~
Since no one has started the check-in thread for this weekend, hope it's ok that I did...
I weighed in yesterday and am happy to report that not only did I lose the 2 pounds I gained from that idiotic binge a few weekends ago but I lost 2 more I'm a bit nervous of adding back good carbs, but I'm going to take it very slowly, just as you all have suggested. I'm adding a fruit in the afternoon and a good cooked grain in the evening for this week and we'll see how that goes. I don't necessarily need a lot of good carbs, just a little so that I don't feel "deprived" .I managed to stay away from the cookies and the candy that were floating around the university on Thurs because this is the end of the semester and everyone is bringing junk food to their classes. Next week will be a challenge as well but I'm really determined to stick with it until I reach goal and then move into making good choices from there. How are the rest of you all doing? Tam |

I am preparing to go on the road for a week, I've been home almost two months and I am kinda nervous that is always when I fall apart, we shall see what I can do hehe. If only hotels didn't only offer carbinnnential breakfasts golly. I still haven't lost the weight I put on while traveling last year... have a great weekend all

Starting out with a good Saturday! Hope you are too!! Darkfire - too funny about the carbinnental breakfasts at hotels. But SO True. They have all this "free" stuff, but what can WE eat?!? Coffee/tea, sometimes they have yogurt and fruit. But, like where is the protein? They're usually full of breads, muffins, rolls and white bagels. Oh, Great! ![]() |

Darkfire, I know what you mean. I'll be going on a road trip in June (driving from TX to SD to move my stuff up) and I'll be on the road with my parents for probably about a week. I'll be running into the same problem with breakfast at the hotels, although I'm really hoping I'll be in a phase where I'll be able to handle it and allow myself a little (but not too much!) leeway.

Well I planned my week's meals and it will have to be phase two this time, maybe I can stick better to that better healthier than the crap they offer. At least they have eggs and I can eat those with my cous cous, tvp, steel cut oat and quinoa cereal. They also have apples and oranges, I might try one one day. Not really ready for fruit yet. They don't have ff milk so ill be bringing my powder.

Thanks for starting us up Tammay! I've gone flying out the door the last two mornings, with no time to start the threads! Good luck on your trip - it is so much harder to be a vegetariain low-carber in restaurants than if you eat meat. Most people can just order a steak, but NO! Vegetarian food is always pasta, or something like that...
We'll be in the same boat next weekend, at my last dance competition of the season. I am planning to have some of the foods that I don't usually, but I'm NOT going to go hog wild just because!

Morning all,
Rose, my trip isn't for a while, thank goodness - enough time for me to come up with strategies. I did talk to my folks yesterday on the phone and let them know I'm really trying to eat healthy and keep it that way but we'll see what happens when the stress comes up. Doing fine this morning, though I completely lost track of time and only woke up an hour ago. I'm gotten lazy over the weekends lately with exercise but I do exercise the rest of the days in the week and I figure once studies are over and I won't have to wake up at 5 a.m. 3 days a week to shlep over to the gym, I'll do better. I might even be able to get in some yoga in the evenings . Hope you all are having a peaceful Sunday! Tam |
