Whole grains
I was just curious about what kinds of whole grain foods you all eat?
I am starting on phase 2 next week and I wanted to know specifically what kinds of foods you all enjoy that have whole grains in them...other then the obvious oatmeal and breads..ect How about snack type foods, are there ant good crackers? or specific breakfast cereals that you prefer? Please share! ![]() |

Good suggestions so far!!
This is one of the things that is so different from Atkins to South Beach..so I am still a little unsure of what "snack" foods such as crackers are acceptable. I find SB easy to follow, however with atkins, you count carbs..you can pick up any label and know that yes I can have that or no I can't but with South Beach, other then the foods that are listed in the book, I have no idea how to really tell what is good for me and what is not!! oh the confusion lol

Rice you have 2 options converted rice or brown rice. Pasta I use whole wheat. For anything in the snack food area or breads I look for the first ing. being a whole wheat and not enriched. If you like sour dough bread that is ok too. One thing I had to learn real fast is to read the ingredients and the sugar amounts.
It's not hard just retraining and knowing what to look for. I generalized alot in this answer but in following these rules it applies to whatever you choose. |
