*♥*Monday Check In - Feb 27*♥*

Hi Beachers! I am seriously considering training to be an medical transcriptionist, but I currently work full-time outside of our home and I'm not sure how much time I could devote to it. My husband, who's 100% supportive, wants me to make the final decision and asked me the same question. I could just myself for not looking into this when I was a stay-at-home mom to our son. By the time Matthew's ten (he's 6 1/2 now), I want to be working from home. I'm so preoccupied with that and my weight - it's all I can think about.

Have a great day everyone!

Morning Stephanie! Thanks for starting us off.

I think medical transcription or billing are both great "at home" jobs! I know a former co-worker that trained in billing and after about 3 years, actually has 2 other billers working for her.

You will feel better about things when you make a decision. One word of caution. I work from home and it has it's advantages. But the one big drawback, for me anyway, is that I miss the face-to-face contact with people. Some days, I just have to go "into town" at lunch to see/talk to someone.

Have a great day on the beach! And, "Hi" to all who follow!

Chris

Hi everyone! Steph, I think that would be a great career for you if you want to stay home! It was something I considered myself at one point in time but I guess I just wasn't dedicated enough to the idea. Let us know what you decide!

I'm feeling TONS better! I pulled completely out of my "funk" by Friday night. Part of it was that I had a talk with Jeff about the things that were bothering me. I was trying to hold it all in but I guess that I'm just not built that way. I have to release my feelings or they torture me from the inside out.

Looking forward to getting back on track now!

Good Morning!
Hope everyone had a good weekend. We finished putting our gym together and had our first workout this weekend. As I figured there are some things that I just can't do because the weights are too heavy. But there are enough that I can get a good work out.

Today should be an official weigh in day for me, but DH took the bathroom scale away from me. He said I was watching it too much. I'd rather look at it daily than have a surprise once a week. I can hop on the scale at the gym, but maybe he's right and I should give it a break for a while.

I had a pretty good weekend of eating on P2. The kids begged to go out for lunch after church yesterday so we ended up at a Chinese Buffet. Talk about a place that doesn't tempt me to cheat at all. Yuck I had some fairly simple chicken and beef stir frys lots of broccoli about 1/4 c of lo-mein and some brown rice. I didn't even consider my favorite thing though...those deep fried sugar sprinkled "dough-nut" thingies. Had lots of tea (tiny cups) and LOTS of water when I came home.

One of my goals for this week is to have a good menu planned for dinner each night before I go to the grocery store. The kiddos are starting to chant "meat, cooked veggie, salad and a drink" at dinner time. I think they are getting bored of our plan. I'm trying to make them some extra things (potatoes, pasta etc...) to have with dinner and have good snack options for them but I guess I need to work a little more on it.

Oh, the dentist said he can fix my broken tooth no problem and when I go back to have him do that he'll take care of the small cavity too! I was just there in December to have what I thought was the last of four done and now three months later he discovers a new one! I swear I brush and floss! How did it just appear? Did I mention we dropped me from the dental insurance starting the first of the year because it was tripling the cost of the insurance? I'm almost thinking that I'll tell him to fix the tooth and let the "small dark spot" (as he called it) go for a while. At least that way I don't have to pay for it all right now. Who knows.

Hope the Beach is great for you all today!

Hi everyone... I have been busy today. Getting ready for our oldest son's birthday tomorrow. So not much time, but I just wanted to check in.

Steph I considered Transcriptioning at one point. I have always loved being at home with the kids and being here for them when they need me now that they are a little older. I guess I never got motivated enough to get serious. I should have done it a long time ago...now by the time I get done with schooling (for anything) I'll be ready to retire. lol

Theresa SOOOOO happy you are feeling better. I really am. Remember if you EVER need a shoulder we are all here for you...

anadday Woooohoooo on the weight loss!! I know you are so happy! I bet you are looking forward to playing some pool now! hehe

Kirsten So glad you are doing well and good luck with the menu planning...I am horrible about that sort of thing.

Chris Hi there...and hope you have a Great day on the Beach!!

Hello to everyone else who follows or that I missed...

Hi all. I had a great weekend. Not necessarily food wise , but in general. However, I did start back on Phase 1 today. I am going to take it one meal at a time.

Have a great day!

Hi Ladies

Bad weekend for me as I had a tummy ache and if efeected my weight loss. Now I have to get back to the beach, but I heading back to Phase 1.5 Eating only 1 serving of grain carb per day. Someone on another board pointed out to me that I was stalling becasue I adding too many bread/flour prods all at once. So now I'm only eating grain[barley, brown rice, hot or cold cereal] this week. If my weight goes down than I can add another carb.

Gee Why didn't I see that, it take others to notice my menus.

Thats way it so important to write down our menus.

Hugs CAG

Hi Gang

I am happy today. Down one 1.4 pound this week. Whooo hooo.

Stephanie, that sounds very interesting. Wish I had thought of that yrs ago.
Chris, I am total opposite, I don't know why, guess I am a keep to myself type...My DH would rather me be more outgoing too. I will pray on this.
Theresa, so glad you are feeling better. Ya, it is better not to hold stuff in.
Kirsten, lol on the scale. I weigh myself every morning. I read an article in Womans Day, I think it was Woman's Day... anyway, it said people who do weigh every day will keep off the weight longer, and or continue to lose ... just a thought.
Dana WTG on the loss. Keep up the good work!
Melynda , are you going to have any cake? If so , have some for me please! Tell him we said Happy Birthday.
Marva, I love your ativar....wish I had seen it first instead of my pink bird!!! Sorry you are down, hugs to you. It will get better.
Hi to Pir8. I got to run to town, and then visit my mom about an hr away...See yas. Have a great day on the Beach, or what ever plan we are on.

Sheila

Hi all -

As most of you know, I've been struggling lately. I've been binging and frustrated. I decided to go back to Atkins as of last Saturday. I'm on day 3 of induction and feel kindof sick, but I know it will pass. I'm not sure what I'm doing after induction. I might stay Atkins or move back to SB...or do some kind of mixture of the 2. I love SB, but I feel like my blood sugars are not doing well on it (it would probably be better if I never cheated, too). Yesterday, I was hungry for the first time in awhile before feeling light headed. It was nice.

sheila - congrats on the loss! You rock! I need to read the Dr. Phil book...

I realized my post might not make sense. I was saying that I had heard that the psychological aspect of the Mr. Phil diet was very good. What is his diet like?

Dr Phil's Diet:

Similar to South Beach, so many grains, so many protein, so many carbs, so many starches... but he allows white stuff, sugar on occassion. Like he said, if you are feeling deprived, you will eventually over do and overeat, or binge..so if you are out, and see a piece of cake, have a piece...ONE PIECE... so ladallaldalada...you know the story...portion control, moderation, etc etc etc. I say do what is what works for you. Only you know.
