question about atkins bars

I have a question about the Atkins bars.....I am doing South Beach, this is my third week on Phase 1 (cant make myself move forward yet ha) so actually I guess I am Phase two, technically.....anyway my question is, Since I am on South Beach, if I am in a hurry, can I have an Atkins bar for lunch or breakfast without hurting anything? I see they only have like 2 or 3 carbs that affect glucose but the label says like 17 carbs total, and I don't know if Atkins works like SB...And I can't find any SB bars anywhere and anyway, I see you guys all saying they have snuck sugar in them, so far the Atkins bars I am choosing have no sugar. The bars help out if I am having a massively busy day and no time to cook alot. Please help. thank you!

The Atkins Advantage bars always kill my stomach and make me crave like mad, but I do enjoy the Atkins Morning Start bars. They are the only ones I can enjoy without problems that taste halfway decent... If you don't have any ill effects from the Advantage bars and they don't cause a stall I don't see any harm, but there are many that would probably disagree. I'd rather have one of these though than cheat with a Candy bar.

Stats: Not where I want to be!
WOE: Atkins
Start Date: Too many
I did Atkins back in 2003 and I used the Advantage bars about once a week. I always thought they were better than the other bars nutrition wise, they didn't have the sugar alcohols that others have, so my stomach was always ok on it. I used it as a meal replacement or as a snack if I was craving something sweet. The taste was not bad, but not fantastic. Anyway, if they don't make you stall and if they don't upset your stomach, I would say go for it - occasionally.

I was just checking the Good Fats Good Carbs Guide on these bars as I don't use them myself and the only one that shows good in both phase 2 and 3 is the EAS AdvantEdge Carb Control (sugar free) one bar 32 carbs, sugar 1, fat/sat fat 7/5, fiber 6.

Hope this helps you. Have a great weekend!

The body stalls with every diet a person is on. It's a way for the body to take a rest and catch up.

i had the atkins peanut butter chocolate crunch today for lunch, and i was very surprised at how good it was. i think it was less than 300 calories and i'm not hungry 5 hours later. it had 2 net carbs and said on the packaging it was safe for induction... i wouldn't want to rely on them more than twice a week, but very helpful on the busy days!

well I had the "Morning Start" Apple Crisp bar for breakfast and it WAS good but I was real hungry later and I am not usually so I had to do a 1 oz. chunk of cheese...... I won't rely on them, but i wish I could.....Much easier than cooking. HA
