Does any one use...
I was doing Lean For Life last Summer and Fall. The diet is similar to SB, but among the differences there are two I was wondering about.
1) Does anyone ever use protein powder in smoothies here? I've got some that I'd use up if it is acceptable. 2)What about checking ketones? I think LFL has you doing it daily. To my thinking that should be faster way to see if the carbs you are adding back into your diet are right for you, rather than waiting for weight to stall or gain. I had my DH check this morning, even though we're still on P1. He gained 4 pounds after losing 8. I can't come up with any reason for the gain. Happy Valentine's Day! ![]()

Hi Kirsten.
I haven't heard lately, but last year the buzz was that SBD didn't recommend the protein powders, mainly because the program isn't about high protein, but I do know some used them and had good results. My understanding is that we usually don't get into ketosis, so I'd say it would be a great tool if it works for you. You guys have done great, tell him not to get discouraged, some of the weight loss during phase 1 is water, so he's still 4 lbs positive with fat loss! Hope this helps a little. |
