Newbie to SB, switching from Atkins
I am coming back to Low Carb and would like to try SB. I don't have the book yet so will have to use the lists here to get started. The Phase one is for two weeks, yes? Is there an online site where I can get more sample menus for the two weeks?
Also, I am financially restricted so I will have to be on the Phase one with what I have on hand until my next pay date. Is it harder to do with fewer food items? I have eggs, mozarella cheese, yogurt for protein sources. I have garbonzo beans, frozen broccoli, green beans, lettuce tomatoes and a bottle of veggie juice. I have walnuts. Is Stevia an acceptable sugar substitute? Thank you.

Hi! Yep, Phase 1 is two weeks. Try the SB website for more info; not sure what they have up now, but they did have a few suggestions. Also, use the stickies at the top of the page. Your local library should have the book and cookbooks and other LC books will have recipes and menu plans that you can adapt. I think you will be able to get through the first few days with what you have on hand. I believe stevia is an acceptable sugar sub.

I was also a fan of keeping it simple in both Phases actually. I usually just tried to take meals I would normally prepare at home and make them SBD friendly. For instance on Phase 1 if I wanted to make a roast on Sunday then I would make it without the potatoes and just put extra veggies in the roasting bag with lots of mushrooms. In phase 2 I substitute my normal starch for something like brown rice or long grain converted rice, again with a lean protein and lots of veggies. Phase 1 is actually easiest because you're doing your protein and veggie for dinner. I wish you well as you get started!

Makeupmom, it is great to have you join us!
I would say that since your available food choices are limited until payday, you should just follow the sample menus in the Phase 1 sticky and use what you have according to those guidelines. You might make up an egg & broccoli frittata that you could have for any meal. They keep for several days in the fridge. Hardboiled eggs made into deviled eggs with a little mustard make a good meal with some steamed veggies. A lettuce salad with green beans, garbanzos & shredded mozzarella could be a meal salad. Plain, non-fat yogurt or walnuts would be a good snack. Your biggest challenge will be not getting bored with the food until you can shop!

If you like chocolate, and have any hersheys baking cocoa, add a little to your yogurt with a sugar sub. YUM... all the rest of what the ladies wrote sound good.

Welcome to the Beach makeupmom! I think making your meals simple at first until you get the hang of things is a good idea. Personally I want Lisa to come cook for me.
