Thinking of trying SB again but....
I have portion control issues with Phase 2. I have done Phase 1 of SB twice and both times have lost 10-14lbs. It is when I get into Phase 2 that I start to have portion control issues or I just introduce too much stuff at one time. Right now I am doing a SB/Protein Power hybrid but I can't take eating so much protein at one meal.
How do you control your portions once you get to Phase 2? How do you introduce grains and fruits? Have you gotten to the point where you need count calories? thanks! ![]()

Hi Beyond! Nice to see you here again! I have issues with portion control too. I know SBD does not call for counting calories but I have started to as I try to get these last few pounds off and I'd say it helps a lot. I use fitday and it helps to keep me on track when I realize just how many calories are in food. It helps too when I eat off a salad plate instead of a regular dinner sized plate. I have even started measuring my food. I always thought my "half bowl" of whole wheat cereal was about a cup. Boy was I shocked at what a true cup of cereal looked like. I admit I was hungry some of the time when I first started counting calories and measuring my food but I am enjoying how my stomach has shrunk and how my clothes are fitting and how little food it takes to make me full.
I think I am a food addict and it doesn't really matter if I feel "full" or not. Sometimes I eat because I just love the taste of food in my mouth even though my stomach has had enough. That's more of an emotional issue than a food plan issue so I'm working on it. Being that is used to medicating herself with food when the going gets tough, it's a learning experience finding other ways to cope and deal. We are here for you and if you decide to come back to the Beach, I'm sure you'll figure out a way to make it work for you.

I have portion control issues too. Frankly, that was one of the things that I loved about Atkins...I could stuff my face and not worry so much about it as long as I didn't take in too many carbs. But really, what did that teach me about eating right? Not a thing. I have come to the point in my life where I am ready to TAKE CONTROL of my eating and stop letting it control me! It's going to be rough...but I'm worth it! (And I bet you are too!)

Hey clueless! I hear ya sister! I did fine on Phase 2 until Christmas. I am struggling to get back under control now. I will do it, but I am going to have to really concentrate on discovering which foods are causing me to lose control!
I lost well on Phase 2 for several weeks. I intend to do so again! You can do it too! Oh! And ! |

Lisa, thats me.. I just love the taste of food, hungry or not, and I am also learning portion control . On a good day I have 1200 to 1500 cal. and I am not all that hungry. I do chew a lot of sf gum. Keeps my mouth busy. LOL and it works. I am a POLAR ICE sf gum ADDICT. haha Theresa, I love your ativar. I also liked what you said. Hi Chris..I ate at Christmas too. Thanks all for responding! I think SB is the way for me to go because though I don't go on all out binges I do have issues with portion control. I have to eat through some of the food I have at home and then I want to do a true Phase 1 south beach. I will post here in the meantime to get me in the groove.
