Question

Can I have regular peanut butter or does it have to be the natural kind?

Hi Amber!

I would stick to the natural style peanut butter. The "regular" contains sugar. And even if you can find a regular-style with no sugar, it usually has trans fats or hydrogenated oils to keep it smooth!

I was not a fan of natural peanut butter, but after 3-1/2 months, I have learned to love it. You can mix a little Splenda or Davinci's syrup into it if you really like the sweeter taste. I would imagine that mixing it with a little Smart Balance would improve the consistency, if that is your issue.

Amber - as Chris has already said, the all natural peanut butter is a good choice. I love it! Especially with an apple. Of course that's for Phase 2 but so yummy.

Yes, it's the transfats/hydrogenated oils we are trying to stop eating.

The brand I eat is Smuckers. It has the oil on top and you have to mix it in. I have hubby do it for me because I buy the big jars from the wholesale club and my hands get tired trying to mix it all together!
