Christmas Challenge - week of 11/21

Wow, we've finally made it to Thanksgiving week and it sounds like everyone is really focused.

Anything to share?

I really need to focus this week. With Thanksgiving and my birthday back to back, I know I will cheat, but I don't want to make it a week long event like I have done in the past. I asked my mom for a very small cake so that there are no left overs. Fortunately, the gym on campus will be open all week except Thursday, so I can still get my workouts in. For me, I can usually maintain when I eat bad as long as I get a good workout in. I am hoping that is the case this week.

After vowing to be perfect after lunch, I screwed up again. I had some spare time between things this afternoon so a friend and I went to Starbucks. I had the intention of getting a sugar free coffee, but ended up getting an Egg Nog Latte. AHH!

As Scarlet O'Hara says, "Tomorrow is another day!"

This week is pep talk week for me. I know this plan works - I know the right foods to eat for optimum health - I know what to do to maintain my loss - I've got the water drinking down now - Now let's get down to business and finish this thing! Sorry about the shouting but sometimes I can't hear unless I do. This is going to be a good week of achieving our goals for getting through this eating frenzy that we call Thanksgiving! Plan your strategies everyone...We are going to get through this and succeed! Have a good positive perfect day that's my plan for today! Hugs to you all. Be good to yourselves.

It's exactly five weeks till Christmas and I really want to lose 6 pounds by Christmas day. I think I'll be in size 12s if I get to 163. I know it will be hard because of exams but I'm really focused on losing weight during this exam period instead of gaining. To lose 1 pound a week, I only need a deficit of 500 calories a day. I just need to keep exercising and to watch my eating. I can't be ridiculously strict, but I also can;t go too crazy and start eating everything around. This is going to be a huge challenge for me. Not only because it's difficult, but I'd also like to prove to myself that I can not gain/lose weight during periods of stress. I know I'll have these periods through out my life (even when I'm finished with school) so I really need to learn to get away from the stress eating.

Anyway, I'm excited to be part of this challenge. I'm glad I have you guys to do it with me.

Today was my weigh in and I was 1 lb down from siggy and 6 lbs down from last Monday's weight.

If I didn't have to cook beginning tomorrow for Thanksgiving, I think I could coast right through the meal and do fine.

I'm really trying to focus on doing good and hoping to follow through.

On a definite positive, I weigh 16 lbs less than last year at this time.

Thanks for the pep talks, let's do it!

Woo Hoo!!! Way to go gal friend! That is the best news tonight. My dinner night went better then I thought it would be. I found foods SB friendly and enjoyed them. Now it's kicking back getting ready for a perfect no eating night. Keep up the great work. We are getting strong now!!

Doing good so far, lost 5 pounds since start of SB woe. Slowly but surely. I try to exercise everyday, and try to take off on Sund. Going to stay on plan for Thanksgiving except for a lc / lf version of a pumpkin cheesecake I saw on a lc cooking show. Will have one piece of it. I need to drink more water, but I left my 64 oz cup at church. Have to wait till Sun to get it.Going to start a book on how to boost metabolism sometime today. Thanks for this thread. It's appreciated. I am still hoping for total of ten pound loss during challenge .

Good morning!

Mercy, I had a long holiday, 3 fulls days of it with a full meal each day and lots of company and I'm ready to get back with the program.

How about a little boot camp here? Out of the comfort zone and into action.

I'm doing some phase 1 and back to the treadmill! Any gains are only a problem if I don't tackle them now. I think this is what we call life on the beach!

Love you guys!

Marva

Hi, I'm down another 1/2 pounds. Only 3.5 to get my Christmas goal. I have 4 weeks left and I need to keep this up! It would be amazing and empowering to be able to lose weight during exams.

Good for you on your weight loss anj! You can do this through anything! Just have those SB snacks ready and waiting. Good luck during those exams.
