Can you start with Phase 2?
I'm just curious if anyone has started with Phase 2 and if so what were the results? I generally lose weight pretty easily and I tend to obsess on the things I can't have if I go on a diet with too many restrictions. Thanks for any feedback you might be able to share.

I'm kind of doing phase 2 and a mixture of my own thing. I basically ate more salads, some fruit (mostly apples), healthy proteins and fats, low sugar or splenda, drank tons of water and made sure I did my cardio and weights. If I feel like some whole wheat/grain bread, I'll have 1 slice but I rarely have the craving for that. I started this last week and can tell the difference in my jeans and how my body looks. As far as weight goes, only 4 pounds. The big difference is that I can tell I've lost inches.
So starting at phase 2 can make a difference. Just hang in there and you will see results. Good luck! |

Oh, I wanted to add that I also count calories so that might make it easier to do well when I start in P2. Normally P1 is good for getting your cravings under control and keeping your appetite down.

Absolutey, you can start in Phase 2. In fact, it is recommeded that athletes and young people start there. Just expect a bit slower weight loss at first.

I know a man who was short (for a man) and pretty overweight. He didn't think he could cut out carbs all together, so he did a modified version of SB. He just cut back. He went from drinking about 2 liters of Pepsi a day to drinking 16oz and cut back on other high sugar and high carb foods. He lost a lot of weight that way.

I'm doing phase 1 with two low glycemic fruit servings a day.

We started out with Dana Carpender cookbooks and just "kinda" kept track of carbs. We didn't lose fast, but that was okay with us as we weren't gaining. I have lost 30 pounds and my husband has lost about 50 in about a year. We have a lot of favorite recipes from her books.
Now we have expanded to other low carb cookbooks and the internet, of course. Good Luck |

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I've gone from eating lots of junk to Phase 2 SBD starting this past Sunday. I've dropped a quick 4 pounds so I think the Phase 2 start is working. Of course tomorrow will be a challenge but I'll just try to make good choices and stay the course with Phase 2. I hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving tomorrow!
