Need Encouragement for Weekends

Hi there,

I need some encouragement for the weekends. I have the hardest time on the weekends to stay focused on the plan. It is the time that my husband & I have our family time with the children. We are either eating at home or on-the-go foods. I love my family, but they want carbs and since I have greatly decreased mine, I am overwhelmed with carbs on weekends and just eat them with the rest of the family. Can you all give me some pointers to stay focused and on-the-plan? Thank you in advance!

It's good to always have some yummy snacks on hand to munch on when people around you are eating non-SBD-friendly foods. The beef jerky recipe that I posted a few days ago from here is awesome. Dried fruits also work well. It's also good to have a delicious whole grain bread of some type around. Prepare ahead and you will have the option of staying on plan. Before I go to work each morning, I put together little plastic container servings for snacks and for lunch. It's hard to NOT stay on plan when I have those. If you carry a purse or bag, you can put little containers of legal food in your bag - nuts, dried fruits, homemade jerky, veggies. If you don't carry anything like that, maybe it's time to? I never carry a purse, but if I know I'm not going to be near anything legal when it's time to eat again, I have a small canvas bag that I put that stuff in. It works perfectly.

As far as cooking at home and wanting to eat what they are eating...make some food for you ahead of time for each day and put it in the fridge. When you make their food and they are digging in, get out your portion of legal food, heat it up and enjoy.

Good luck! You can do this!
