Thanks Steph, I'm roaming the beach while resting. Busy day here but we're sure getting somewhere with the fall cleaning.

Hello Everyone,
I'm a newbie and starting the SBD in 2-3 days. I have been reading through the threads and find many of guys very supportive and informative. Looking forward to making many new friends! What is the most important advise would any of you give someone starting this eating?

to you and this board. My one piece of advice would be to think of this as a way of life and not a diet. South Beach has to be one of the smartest and healthiest ways of eating I've seen yet.

Hey, ladies. I'm around. Just really busy with everything going on around here, lately. We're probably going to end up moving back to Utah (where we're from). We're struggling with some things right now and being closer to family would be better for the time being.

I am stressed to the max and still on the diet 100%! That's huge for me! In the past if I got stressed, I would go for the comfort food. But I already know that this is a WOL for me and that's the bottom line. So cheating just isn't an option. I told DH today that we're never buying white flour/sugar (or anything made with them) EVER again. I've wasted too much time of my life eating that stuff. I deserve to stop obsessing about food and living my life.

nbfit - I wanted to say that what really helped ME this time around was throwing out EVERYTHING that was not diet friendly. It was alot of food, but I have no option but to eat healthy and all I'll buy is healthy, anymore! Welcome!

Hi Steph and Marva!

I agree with Stephanie on the advice thing... if you only have healthy choices around you, you odds of making a good choice are second to none!!! From one newbie to another... my second piece of advice is - don't skip meals/snacks!!! I've been doing this the last few days because I haven't been to the store to stock-up on all the right stuff... and I end up being more hungry and susceptable to making bad choices. (Luckily, I've been OK with choices - maybe not all as low-fat as they should be, but I've been avoiding sugar and white foods like the plague!!!)

Anyways... I'm proud to say I'm down 1# today!!! Not much, but I'll take it!!

Good Morning.
Hi to all. I am making today my weigh in day. I was 179.6 Very slow go for me. But it is on the downward side of 180.
I have done good the last three days since I have started this wol. No cheating, even though friends gave DH three cakes that are sitting in my fridge. UGH.....
Thanks for being here. I really like the information, and support.

Good morning all...well yes, I wieghed in again...and down another .5...so that is nice...I haven't seen 176.5 in so long, I would always hover down to about 177-178 and then yo-yo back and forth, so that is so nice.

nbfit4life I just started myself...I don't really have too much advice to give, I'm still reading the book...but I am really enjoying it so far...

nbfit4life, good morning beachers, and congrats on the weight losses and hoorays! I'm short of time but wanted to say hi. I hope to be back later today.

On the best idea, I agree, get the back stuff out of the house and the good stuff in.

I have come to the conclusion that 1 1/2 c of lettuce with tuna, 1 hb egg, and 1/2 c tuna is not good with only 1 tblsp of mayo.
