Big Yapper!!!!

Tuesday is the "new" Monday... right?
Well, for me anyway! I always put off starting <whatever> for the next Monday... well, not this time. This time, I'm starting TODAY!!! I am tired of the baby-fat that's been sticking to me since my pregnancy - My daughter just turned TWO!!!
![]() I figure if I post and get active the support and validation will help to keep me motivated. I low-carbed back in 2000-2001 and lost 65 pounds. Due to several moves and temporary housing situations, the 40 pounds crept back on over a 6 month period of fast-food and eating out. Then I got pregnant and gained an additional 75 pounds on top of that!!! I was 247 when I went and delivered my daughter in Sept 2003. Now, October 2005, I weigh 212. My goal is to get as close to my goal (135) as possible by November 2006. The older my daughter gets the more I feel my weight holding me back. I want to run on the beaches with her next summer... AND, next November we are planning a trip to Disney World and I would LOVE to be able to ride all the rides with her and to have wonderful pictures to remember this awesome experience - Pictures with ME in them with her and DH - rather than me behind the camera!!! So, in addition to the SBD, I'll be doing cardio 5x/week for 30-45 minutes (and chasing a toddler, if that counts!!!) Well, there we/I have it... It's in black and white... there's no going back!!! ![]() Thanks for letting me post, and I hope to glean from your wisdom and share in others successes.

Welcome Mel - you've come to the right place for inspiration. We'll do all we can to support you to goal. Have you been to Disney before? It's my favorite vacation destination. We go at least once per year. I would move there if DH would let us but he isn't the biggest Disney fan so that's not gonna happen. Anyway, I know you will achieve your goal and look marvelous in the pics you take with your beautiful family on vacation next year!
P.S. We have an exercise challenge that we would love to have you join. That will keep you inspired to make sure you get your work outs in.

Thanks so much for your encouragement. We made it to the gym today for our workout (which was an accomplishment in and of itself) and although we didn't have anything to eat for breakfast (I literally decided at work today to start today!) and lunch was just some sliced chicken breast on top of a plain lettuce salad (boring, i know, but we have to get to the store!)... Dinner tonight should be a bit more enticing. Also, I'm planning on a stop at the store this evenign and I'm going to pick up all kinds of allowable items for Phase I.
Because I (successfully) did Atkins before, I think my basis for Phase I meals will be pretty good. Probably more restrictive than needs be... but it may also take a few days for my body to PURGE all the BAD stuff that I've been putting in it over the last couple years!!! Have any of you suffered from withdrawl migraines or anything? This happened to me on induction before... ? Thanks again!!! P.S. The last time I was at Disney World was the week after I graduated high school... It was amazing!!! Last edited by Mel78 : 10-25-2005 at 12:04 PM. |

Mel!I think I remember you from a few years ago. You were in Germany I think? I used to really enjoy your posts, so I'm glad you're back. You'll love SBD and everyone here. Your daughter is adorable! I'm starting (again!) tomorrow, so for me Wednesday is the new Monday! ![]() |
