*♥*Tuesdayy Check In*♥* October 25th
Hi gals !!
Well, it's 2 months to my 1st goal date and I continue to cheat.....and I've gained back more than half of my SBD loss. Yesterday it was icecream and cheese doodles. I suck. Could someone take over starting the thread until I feel more motivated to be here? Thanks. Have a great day all !! Reg |

Reg!
I'm sure someone can take the check-in thread, but please don't leave! We need you here, and I think you need to be here too! How can we help? When you don't feel like being here is exactly when you should be! You have been successful, so you know SB works for you. What else is going on? Are you bored with your food choices, or too stressed to prepare & cook the right foods? Maybe just not losing for a period of time has gotten you down. Is it time to try another plan? Might jump-start your losing again. And, you can always come back to the Beach! When you figure out whatever it is, please let us know! We'll all learn from your experience, and we might be able to help "boost you into the saddle" again...Afterall, we'll need you to help some of us, I'm sure! I am sending all kinds of positive energy your way, my friend! Hang in there!

Reg - I'm sorry to hear that you are having trouble. I tend to have cycles of great enthusiasm and great depression at my weight loss journey. For me, I know that eating all that bad stuff and not exercising makes me feel miserable (both physically and emotionally) but sometimes it's hard not to stop eating the junk that makes us feel bad. I'm sending you positive thoughts and hope that you can get past this stage and move back into healthy eating. Think about this as just a brief delay and not a full-blown derailment. Good luck!!
Jacque

REG - From Dec. 04 - mid March 05 I lost 21 pounds. Went on a cruise and only gained 2 pounds, but since managed to regain 8 total. I keep losing and regaining the same weight. Lately, I'm always between 129.5 and 133.5 - up and down and up and down. I know exactly what you are feeling. BUT I also know that it's my own issue and fault for not sticking to the plan as much as I should or could. Hang in there. Speaking of weight - right in that wonderful range: 132 Stress is decreasing a bit and trying to get back on my way to my goal of 120. Renee |

Good morning Sheila!
How about I just post a daily dish on the moving on to phase 2? Dr. Agatston explains it better than me. Hope this helps....... Phase 1 Time Limit (Published 1/28/05) It can be tempting to stay in Phase 1 until you've reached your goal weight. Not only can you shed pounds quickly during the early part of this Phase, but it can also be scary to start opening yourself up to more food choices. However, Dr. Agatston has several good reasons for moving on to Phase 2. Extending Phase 1 means you'll be missing out on a variety of whole-grain foods and fresh fruits that offer important nutritional benefits. In addition, Phase 1 wasn't designed to be a long-term eating plan. The meal options are limited and constrictive, so dieters are in danger of improvising to eliminate boredom. After a while, you may find old habits creeping back in, and before long, you're cheating more than eating healthy. The three-phase approach of The South Beach Diet™ is central to its success. We strongly encourage you to follow the diet as recommended. Look at this journey as a lifestyle change. It's important to take things one step at a time — don't get caught up in the idea that this is a race to reach a particular goal. Remember, gradual weight loss will be more sustainable over the long term. |

I'm glad you're not leaving. You've always been so nice, encouraging & helpful. Let us help you now. You can do it! OK y'all, I'm starting tomorrow (again!) and I will not cheat. My brother is getting married 10/28/06 & I want to be able to wear a cute dress and look good in the pics. If I so much as mention the words ice cream, chips, pizza or bread, feel free to kick my butt! |

Hi Yall
I know how some of you feel. I started LC on the 10th of Sept. I awoke yesterday to the fact that I was not losing. Maybe I didnt eat enough carbs. I am not sure why , but I do know that I was so frustrated and in tears. I did not cheat at all since the start of my diet. I exercised faithfully and drank all my water. So no weight loss got to me. I wanted to cheat so badly yesterday, and I said , No, I can do this. There must be a better way. I hope and pray I found it in SB. Everyone .... If I can do this, we can all do this. DONT GIVE UP. If first you dont suceed, try , try again. Sheila (yall can keep these words to throw back at me sometime in the future if needed!)

Reg - You can get back on track. BELIEVE me, I've been there. The first time I started South Beach I was about 40 pounds lighter than I am now, hit a bad patch and cheated like crazy, felt like crap and gave up. The second time I started, I was up 27 pounds from the first time. I hit another bad patch and now I have 13 more pounds to lose. Dangit. Now if I had just stuck to it, I'd be 40 pounds closer to my goal right now and probably TO my goal by now! I know how rough it can be, just hang in there. I know alot of my issues were actually emotional. I could recommend a couple books if you're interested? The way I have to see it now is that this is not a diet...it's just the way I eat...and for the rest of my life. If I have a craving for something, I go to the recipes section on LCF and find a recipe to make that's close enough and alter to be SB friendly. I hope that helps. Be strong. I know you can do it!
Jennifer - You can do this! If you have a pic of you in a "cute" dress and smaller, maybe you could hang it on your bathroom mirror as motivation? That's what I would do if I had something I was losing for. I know I always hate looking back on pics when I'm heavy like this...it's such a downer. You can do it! We're here for you! PIR8LUVR - WTG on avoiding the pudding!! I know how hard that can be! You rock! Sheila - You're a better woman than I. I had a month of following a diet and didn't lose one single pound and nothing got looser (and that was at the BEGINNING). I was following the stupid thing to a T and not losing anything and I gave up! LOL I hope to have your willpower if/when I hit a plateau! Hi Marva, redqueen, Jill, Renee, Jacue, Emily, Emily's Mom! I will get to weigh myself in one week! I didn't want to weigh until my two-week induction was up. I'm ready and raring to go! Yeehaw! I didn't eat much today. I think I'm getting bored with the food choices. But I'll keep going and then DH and I are going food shopping on Saturday to prepare for Phase 2!!

Hallelujah, it's good to be here!
I was going to have just yogurt Thursday and Friday and I never get halfway through one day. Today, I feel like this.... . No more cheating for me! I had chocolate chips today and tomorrow is a new day for me. It's clean Phase 1 for me for at least two weeks. I did this WOE last year and know it works - I just need to keep the faith and treat myself with love. Someone in Medford, OR (south of us) won the Powerball last week - $345 MILLION! Love you all... ![]()
