My Body for Life program update
Hi guys!
I just wanted to report that this program is really working well for me. I know a lot of it has to do with watching my calories and portion size of food. Also stepping up my exercise routine has helped too. As of my official weigh in yesterday, I'm down another 1.5 pounds for a total of 5 pounds in two weeks. Woohoo!! Considering the scale didn't move for me in five months, I'm just thrilled. I can definitely see myself reaching goal now and it seemed so far away before. Anyway, just wanted to share how happy I am that the scale is moving and I'm seeing such good progress. I'm wearing a top I bought 2 weeks ago in a size medium that fit well and now it's just about hanging off me! Woohoo!!! Life on the Beach is good!!!!

Hi Lisa,
I've been lurking here (again!) and saw your post last week about BFL for Women. So, of course, I had to go out that day and buy the book (because I am one of those people who try everything)! I have been doing SB off and on for awhile, without much success, mainly because I have been more off than on. But I truly can feel a difference when I am eating well. I read the book and a line from the book hit me really hard. "Sedentary women who eat refined breads, etc. have a 53% greater chance of getting pancreatic cancer." My mom passed away from pancreatic cancer 2 years ago next month - she was only 67. She was sedentary and ate all white breads, rice, potatoes, cookies, etc. - you get the idea. I think that reading that finally scared me into doing this for real. But maybe not so much for losing weight as for getting healthy (but hopefully I will lose some weight, too!) I've been reading a lot of the posts here on SB and also on MM and getting some good tips. I started the Challenge on October 5 and am determined to follow thru. So, thank you for posting about BFL - And congratulations on your weight removal . Not only with BFL, but the great success you had before that! You are an inspiration!Lynne |

Thanks so much everyone for your warm support and encouragement. I know I say it all the time but without you guys I don't think I could have been this successful for this long of a period of time.
Lynne - I saw your post on the MM board. Thanks for being my cheerleader! I definitely could have seen my future being like your Mom's. I'm sorry about her passing. I want a good quality of life how many ever years I have left in this system of things. When I was pushing the envelope on 290 pounds, I knew I had to do something. Some people say I'm obessive, driven or focused. I guess all those things are true but I don't ever want to go back to the person I used to be. I want health, strength and peace of mind that I am doing all I humanly can to get and keep my body in shape. I know you can make it happen for you! I love my transition to the BFL for Women program. The eating is pretty much the same as SBD but the emphasis on intense work outs is the big difference. Working out for an hour a day and watching my calories has finally got the scale moving again for me. I love it! I hope you can find the program or combo of programs that works best for you!!! |

Woohoo for Lisa!!! That is great news for you. BFL is hard but so worth it.
I did BFL many many years ago. I was in his 2nd challenge actually. Wow, the definition I got was awesome. Congrats on sticking it out. You are such an inspiration. ![]() |
