Apparently I need more than the book.
I read the South Beach Diet book in August and started the diet on the 5th of September. A friend all the way across the U.S. joined me in this effort and she told me about this website.
I am having difficulty finding my way around without taking myself completely out of the site by accident, but I am enjoying it. However, I find many things on here that were not in the book, such as milk is allowed in Phase 1, which the book says it is not. Where does this information come from? How do you learn the changes such as you can now have all of the tomatoes you want at every meal in every phase? Red Queen posted a Phase 1 guide, I believe on the 23rd of September, that I find very helpful. Does anyone have a similar guide for Phase 2? I did lose the 11 1/2 pounds during the two weeks of phase 1, but I lost nothing my first week on Phase 2. I would really like to get my hands on a guide if anyone can tell me where or how. I find this forum helpful and I thank all the posters. Merrie Lee |

Merrie Lee, we're glad you've found lowcarbfriends and the this forum.About your questions, as time has passed with the SBD, things have been added that aren't in the book. I'll give you some links to help you better understand. These are all at the top of this forum index so you'll find them as you learn the forum. You'll probably want to print this off to add to your book.... Food list updates: Food List Update Info.... Phase 1 food list and sample menu with guide: PHASE 1 FOOD LIST AND SAMPLE MENU and then the Phase 2 food list additions and guide: PHASE 2 - ADDITIONS AND ONGOING WEIGHT LOSS plus sample menus: PHASE 1 AND PHASE 2 SAMPLE MENUS I hope this helps!
