Daily Dish for Monday 9/26

Sandy went from a size 56 waist to a 42!

To jump-start your week, The South Beach Diet™ Online is featuring Motivational Mondays — a day to celebrate those who are looking better, feeling better, and living better because of The South Beach Diet™!

Sandy C., Joliet, IL.

My 7-year-old granddaughter is a beautiful child. Like all youngsters her age, she is direct and honest. She came up to me recently and hugged me around the waist and said, "Grandpa, I can reach all the way around!" And I said, "Yes, and I can see my feet, too." What a wonderful moment that was. There was a time not so long ago when this would have been impossible. Why? Because I was 105 pounds heavier and rotund — to put it politely — around the middle.

I have struggled with my weight for 15 years. After my last physical, my doctor bluntly said that if I didn't lose weight, I would knock 10 years off my life. He suggested The South Beach Diet™. My wife and I bought the book in October last year, and after one month, I had lost 27 pounds. I was a believer. Since then, I've gone from a size 60 suit to a 48; a size 56 waist to a 42.

As a busy principal of a 500-student elementary school, I am constantly using a computer. Becoming a member of The South Beach Diet™ Online was a natural, and then in May, I was ecstatic to find out that a PDA version was available. I purchased The South Beach Diet™ OnHand immediately and found that it was the perfect solution for keeping me on track. I have the PDA with me all the time: at school, at home, at a restaurant. If I go to a restaurant (and my wife and I eat out frequently), with a tap of the stylus, I can find the foods I can enjoy and the foods to stay away from. I love living life on the Beach, and now it's easier than ever!

Denise, thanks for posting this. It is good to be reminded that losing weight has many more benefits than just looking better! Not that I mind that one, at all!!
