Hi Angie

Yes, you are allowed 2-3 servings of fat free or 1% milk in Phase 1.

With the cereal bars and other foods, the box typically designates which phases you can use them for.

Thanks! That makes me glad about the milk. Sometimes I'll have a protein shake in the A.M. on my way to work...and drinking it with water is BLAH!! I'll have to check the boxes on the other foods.

It is better to eat whole foods instead of that junk processed snacks. If you can't pronounce the ingrediants, it is better to stay away from it. okay for once in a great while, but don't make a habit of it. A lot of people, not everyone, can stall using products. The one that did not affect me was a shake now and then. I looked at a southbeach frozen meal, whoa! on the sodium in it!

When I did SBD last year, I ate low-carb Slim Fast bars and drank the shakes every day (usually one of each), and did not have a problem with them. You just have to experiment and find out what works for you.

That is great it worked out so well for you! Just I have heard so many that have stalled or went completely off plan by using products or say, it's not working and then wonder why. It did not bother me either. Like when I first started back a few years ago near TOM. I had a craving for choc and no sf jello was going to take that away. I ate a carbolite choc with peanuts. It worked and did not fall of plan. However, the goal should be, to eat better whole foods than relying on processed or junk type of things. Or try to get out of that habit. Now, I don't even crave choc during that time of the month anymore. I haven't even slipped and ate a real choc anything in three years.

I have a glass of 1% milk everyday and Greek yogurt (sometimes a rf string cheese too). I can't live without my milk. As for the products I avoid them. Like JC said; sticking to whole foods is much better.
