Salsa is fine. We have it all the time--love it on eggs. Just read the label and make sure there is no sugar.

I use salsa alot but I get mine fresh without any added sugar. There will be some natural sugar from the tomatoes but make sure they didn't add any more.

I eat a lot of salsa myself. I make it instead of buying it. I put in the blender some whole tomatoes out of a can and check the carb content and then some fresh garlic and squeeze a bit of lime juice, mix that in the blender. Then in the processor cut up in small chunks some sweet onions but that is a bit carby and some jal. peppers and I do cut the tops but leave the seeds since I like it real hot. Remove seeds if you don't. fresh cliantro. Season and some put seasoning salt or kosher salt to taste and seasonings. Tomatoes are good for men and prostrate care. All my three boys and DH eat a lot of it.

I use Picante Sauce (Old El Paso) because it doesnt have added sugar. Most of the supermarket salsa has added sugar.....so you may have to try Trader Joes or health food store.

Yum your salsa recipe sounds delish! We are big salsa eaters here too. I like it on chicken breasts as a condiment. I usually buy mine at TJ's but now I'm going to try to make it. Thanks Janet

Your welcome. I also like grilling some porkchops and when close to done, put some salsa on top of it and grill/cook the salsa onto the meat on both sides for a kick of flavor. I do eat advocados and mix that with only salsa too.

I forgot to say, don't drain the juice out of the can of whole tomatoes. Use the whole can or cans. I usually use 3 whole cans of whole tomatoes and make a lot of it since they eat a lot of it. Cheaper too and no sugar in it, since you don't put it in there.
