Between sbd and that protein power diet I've read of on here? I did a search and didn't really find what I was looking for to explain it. Thanks

shanlee - I've never heard of a protein power diet. Care to share what that is? Going back to Phase 1 hasn't seemed to help me and I'm wondering I need to try something a little bit different to get the scale moving again so if you could tell us about this protein diet I'm sure I'm not the only one that would appreciate it. Thanks a bunch!

With Protein Power you have to count carbs and try to divide them up equally among your meals. With SB there's no counting of any kind. I'm not sure of any other differences. I read the book a few years ago.

Thanks Denise for the explanation. I don't like to count things (fat, calories or carbs) so this isn't the program for me.

HA HA me neither I hate to count things and measure so that is part of what made LC'ing great for me. Plus like one person said on some other thread. I like the you can eat this do not eat this plan. Easier. If I get to eat whatever I want and just practice portion control on WW or whatever....? Um obviousl I suck at portion control or I'd be skinny to start with ..... how could I be trust with portion control on something LOL

Shanlee - I'm the same way. If I could just "eat in moderation" I never would have wore size 26 jeans!

"Protein Power" , written by the Eades, husband and wife MDs, explains very clearly the science of low carb eating in easy to understand terms. It would be a useful book to have. It is out in paperback and most libraries will have a copy. They tell how to calculate the amount of protein you should eat each day and it is usually more than we are eating. Also, there is useful advice about stalls, generally increase your protein and DRINK MORE WATER. Often just increasing your water intake will break a stall. They do suggest a maximum amount of carbs per meal. Generally, it really is not that much different from SB, but I recall that you can find more specific advice for specific problems. We have a copy around somewhere-- it has a few decent recipes.
