Water Challenge!!

I need a good challenge today ladies. Let's see who can drink the most water. I have been very bad lately getting my water in and with TOM here and weigh in day on Sunday, I need all the motivation I can get.

So, who wants to join me today? Let's chug-a-lug all the water we can and see who we will crown our Water Queen of the Day !

I have already had 12 ounces and am working on my second mug of 12 ounces of water. I could use come company (read competition)!

Now remind me does decaf tea count as water? I know it does on some diets sometimes? I make it with water so I wanna count it as water....LOL I'd be SO in heaven if it did. Otherwise guess I'll move onto my flavored water and try to join the challenge. I just get SO sick of having to pee constantly I feel like I spend all my time in the restroom....LOL

Sorry Shanlee for this particular challenge only the real stuff will do. You can do it! I'm almost done with mug #3 and you can see that Dana is leaving us in the dust. I wanna be crowned water queen for the day so I'm off to finish this third mug. We would love to have you join us Shanlee!

Okay, I'm done with #3 and working on mug for of water. So far that makes 36 ounces down. This is so good for me to have you all joining me on the challenge. I love a good friendly competition!

I guess you guys can tell my boss isn't in today. Good thing too because I've done more pee'ing than typing today!

I was hoping I would get to wear the crown of Water Queen for the day but it looks like several of you ladies are leaving me in the dust!

Reg - you can join us girlie! Hey, if I can stomach all this water then you can suffer right along with me!

I finished off 2 more 12 ounce mugs of water for a total of 48 ounces so far today. I leave work in a 1/2 hour so I don't want to drink too much more or I might need to pull over on the freeway when DH picks me up! I have bible class tonight so I can't drink water during the session but as soon as it's over and I get home, I'll be chug-a-lug'ing again! I can't wait to see who drinks the most water today!

All right! We've each had seven 20 oz. bottles so far. We'll have one more before bed for a total of 160 oz.

We've both been really thirsty today because we went rather slack yesterday and the day before. Is the whoosh fairy going to visit us for drinking all this water???

Hugs,
Emily

I didn't do nearly as well as I thought I would - I drank an additional 16 oz. so that makes a total for me of 64 ounces. That's not bad for me but nothing compared to some of you ladies!

So let's see who do we crown Water Queen of the Day for Wednesday: (drum roll please)

EMILY and HER MOM!!!!!

CONGRATS TO YOU BOTH WITH YOUR 160 OZ. OF WATER FOR THE DAY (imagine me placing a glittery tiara on both of your heads)!

Congrats go out to our 1st runner up as well:

CHRIS with 112 ounces of water!!!

STEPHANIE is a close 2nd runner up with her 100+ ounces - it's great to see you posting Steph, I hope all is well - been missing you girlie!

Thanks to each of you for participating with me in this water challenge. I know for a fact I would not have drank 64 ounces of water without you all. Now I'm off to start Friday's water challenge! Happy guzzling ladies!

I donot know if this true or not but my coworker told me that as long as your diet drink is caffiene free it can be counted as water i cannot remember which diet plan she referring to.

There is a fascinating book, "Water for Health, For Healing, For Life", subtitled "You're Not Sick, You're Thirsty" in which F. Batmanghelidj, M.D. explains what happens to your body when you try to substitute other fluids for water. I know most mainstream doctors believe that any fluid can count as your "water" intake. I even heard one popular Dr.( who admits to being addicted to coffee) tell a caller to his radio show that her two pots of coffee a day gave her plenty of water. There is very good current scientific research that shows that your body uses more of its water reserves to process and flush out the residues of these other drinks than it takes in from the drinks. One of our local doctors, who is a big water advocate, puts his elderly patients on a minimum of ten glasses a day and they invariably report sleeping better, having more energy, and being more alert. He also tells anyone who wants to lose weight to cut out all soda, diet or otherwise, because of what it does to your body. I don't mean to be argumentative--I just think that this discussion is interesting and it appears to me that everyone is really interested in the water question. I think it is good to explore these questions as we try to improve ourselves. One thing I really like about this forum is most people are trying to be healthy, not just skinny at any cost.
