Seriously considering starting SB - can you tell me your success story?
Just want a little motivation...and before/afters if you have them? Two friends of mine have done gone on it but they were pretty thin to begin with so I'd love to hear from the more...ahhhm...voluptuous of us.
I'm also looking at the Perricone Plan but I really think I'll get sick of salmon - even wild - eating it that much! Ideally I need to lose about 80 pounds. I'd be happy to drop 30 fairly quickly. I haven't been on "a diet" for a verrrry long time and am always looking for loopholes, so I feel like I need to go on something structured so there are no questions about what I can or can't eat. Thanks in advance!! ![]() |

Marva and Sharon are two of our resident cheerleaders and biggest successes, aren't they just fabulous?
Margy - I love South Beach! I started December 1, 2003 and lost about 96 pounds in a year. I spent the next 6 months or so losing another 10 pounds. I have lost over 100 inches off my body and gone from a size 26/28 to sizes 12 and 10. I have gotten sloppy these past 3 months but I'm refocusing and ready to get the last 15 or 20 pounds off. I also exercise a lot and even though my eating hasn't been ideal, I haven't gained any weight back by using the SBD principles 90% of the time. I think combining exercise with SBD is definitely a winning combination. Of course, this is not the only plan that you can lose weight on, you just have to find the program that fits your lifestyle and one that YOU believe in. I know I have to stay away from refined flour and sugar. They make me feel bad and I have bad physical reactions so this is the program for me. I hope you will be joining us!

Hi Margy...
I started SB in October 2004 and then switched to Atkins for a few months, now I am back on SB. I think SB is a way of eating for life and I feel comfortable with my choices of food. Unlike full fat foods mostly eaten on Atkins. I lost 12lbs in the first 14 days of induction on SB. I hit a big stall in May and just recently started losing again. I am determined to never go back. I wish you all the best. This SB thread has the best support that I have ever found anywhere!!! Welcome to the Beach... Melynda ![]()
