*♥*Weekend and Labor Day check in*♥* 9/3-9/5

Hi beach babes,

Hope everyone has had a good Friday and have fun plans for the weekend and Labor Day.

Think I'm just vegen out so I'll be around.

I'm most thankful that help is arriving for our New Orleans/Gulf Coast people and also know that many across the nation are reaching out to them, be it in support, help or prayers. Many of us have had arrivals in our towns and cities since the evacuation, they are warm, lovely, and most grateful in all things.

Monday we're going to have a big kickoff to a Phase 1, Back to Basics Challenge. I think Lisa may be leading the charge, so circle the date! It will be a great opportunity to focus or get refocused and also for new members to join in with us here on the SBD Forum, everyone is welcome, it's friendly, no bashing allowed and mega support.

No slack this weekend and holiday guys, it isn't worth it, ok?

One day at a time, one step at a time!

Let's keep on having those....one perfect days!

Check in with a hi if you get a chance, .

Glad to say that I did really well at my goal last week...got back on a school schedule, and packed a decent SB lunch every day. My water intake was up a bit...tho its hard to drink enough when you need to be in a classroom all day!

No cheats for me this weekend! Up a pound...think I will have to be really careful about adding back cereal. Ate a bit too much this week.

It has been such a sad week with Katrina...and we all sit here at our computers while so many struggle for life here in our own country. Lets all do what we can to help. If money is tight, don't forget that you can always give blood, send up a prayer, volunteer at a food bank.

No time for a personal right now, because I am leaving town today but will be back tomorrow.

Just wanted to let everyone know that I am down another 1/2 pound today! I will definitely take the loss. I will see you all on here tomorrow when I get back. Have a great Saturday!!

Morning y'all!

I'm doing some cooking this weekend! YUM!

Right now I have a huge pot of black beans cooking and I'll use them in several dishes, such as Salmon and Black Bean Salad and perhaps make ravioli using the filling.

I made a batch of WW tortilas yesterday for the kiddoes, they love 2-cheese quesadillas.

I have soymilk to make and anything that strikes my fancy! LOL!

Other than that, it's laundry and de-cluttering.

I hope y'all have a wonderful weekend!

Good Morning Beachers,
I decided that I am going to follow South Beach to the letter, which I wasn't doing before, so today is my first day of being true to myself. My husband, son and I are heading out right now, but I wanted to wish everyone a safe and happy Labor Day weekend and I'll "talk" to you all next Monday when we get back.

Morning Everyone!

I am up and at 'em this morning! Don't plan to do much, but am feeling really well! Didn't feel up to grocery shopping yesterday, so will have to do it this morning. (I had my dh buy the book Reg recommended. Great to have everything in one place for reference/shopping! )

I'm still not very hungry, not complaining mind you, so it will be interesting to see how my first day on Phase 1 goes. I had a hardboiled egg and a couple of slices of Candian bacon for breakfast. I think it will be a salad with sliced chicken breast for lunch and maybe for dinner too.

I tried the Laughing Cow light cheese with some celery yesterday, and I am pleasantly surprised how good it is!

Have a great day!

Morning ladies!

Chris, I'm so glad you're feeling better, I'm sure it's going to take a while to feel comfortable with foods again after the surgery. We're so glad you're with us, for some reason, I just feel like you'd gonna stick here with us, yah!

Have fun Steph, we'll see you Monday!

Yah Reg on the 2-1/2 lbs!, I didn't get back in to tell you that. You're on a roll! Send that whoosh fairy on over to me!

Wow, Lacy you are rolling too! Congrats on the weight losses! Have fun!

Hi Coll, you're doing great, hope you have a fun weekend too!

Luv, you haven't checked in on this thread, but we're so glad you're with us too!

Hi Mtgrl, your food sounds sooooo good, I used to cook a pot of beans for the week, hmmm, need to start doing that again. I get in these ruts with food. You have a good one!

My neighbor and I have just chatted. We've decided we're taking off about lunch on a fun, out-of-town girlie getaway for the afternoon, that sounds like fun! I'll check back in tonight.....

WOE: Dietician's plan
Hi everyone. I'm having a CFS flair up and have been in bed since yesterday morning. I have a feeling it's from the trainer. He's really tough. I talked to dh about it yesterday and we decided that I shouldn't go any further with the trainer and he's taking my sessions over. I talked to the trainer and he was fine with it. I haven't had a flair up for over 6 months and then all of a sudden I get one after seeing him. I'm going to have to stick to my Kathy Smith weight tapes and cardio. It seems much safer and I got great results using the Kathy Smith weight vidoes and I never had a flair up from them. I'm still going to tick to the 40/40/20 for now. If craving start or I end up binging I'll go back to an early phase 2. I'm starting my program Monday since Monday and Friday will be my weight days. Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday will be cardio days.
No plans for the holiday weekend. We're jut going to relax around the house. Have a great time everyone and stay safe.

Good for you Stephanie. It's great you realized what you were doing wrong and that you're going to do something about it.

Congrats Lacy! Great job.

Hi Marva, Coll, Mtgirl, Reg, Chris and Denise.

Checking back just a sec.

Denise (dmi), sorry I missed a reply..just hang in, we all go up and down like that during the week, glad you're tweaking, that's what makes it work! Yes, it is so sad, there are many rewards in helping.

Denise(85), I'm so sorry the trainer didn't work out, just take care!

Thank you.....I was pleasantly surprised....didnt think it was possible to lose that much on week #7. I can see myself slipping already tho. 2 servings of WW bread yesterday AND cantelope. Tisk, tisk, tisk.

So, I can successfully have 1 serving of bread and not have my blood sugar go bonkers.......I have no cravings. I'm thrilled My family has successfully switched over to "brown bread" (as my kids call it), and they know we switched because it's "healthy bread" (kids quote again).

Not much planned for the weekend.

Hope everyone has a safe, legal, and enjoyable holiday weekend !!

Hi beachers,

Yesterday was so much fun, we shopped Big Lots and I found some new things like roasted peppers, marinated artichoke crowns, etc. I also found the onion and also the garlic herb laughing cow light, woo hoo. I'm a happy beacher!

Happy Labor Day Everyone!

How's this for happy holiday news?

This morning, my fasting blood sugar was 108!! A couple of days on the Beach and I am amazed!! My morning, pre-breakfast blood sugar has never been that low since I started testing! Granted, the surgery 5 days ago no doubt helped with the pancreatitis, but, I am stunned!

I am doing well menu-wise, though for once in my life I am having to make myself eat! I'm sure it is surgery related, and will pass before long, darn it! I have to get with the program and start posting my menus, tomorrow.

I'm just a happy girl this morning...

Hope you all have a wonderful day and if you're traveling, stay safe!

Morning Beach Babes!!

Chris: WHOO HOOO on the FBS!! That's awesome!!

Reg G'morning!! Have a fun time today!

Today I am re-starting Phase One since I jumped off the Beach into a rip tide over the weekend. :-( But, today is a NEW DAY and I'm eating clean today and drinking my water.

I am also cooking a meal for a friend who just had her 7th baby. She is a vegetarian, so I;m making veggie lasagna and all the fixin's for her family (2 teens and 5 little ones under 5!) I figure everyone loves lasagna, right? I'm also baking bread for them, so I'll be busy in the kitchen.

In addition, MY little one, my 5th child, turns 6 today and she chooses the menu. So we're having a little party for her today as well and cooking and delivering our friend's meal. It's gonna be a busy but fun day!

Hugs to all of you re-starting Phase One today and to all who are doing great on Phase Two! Have a great day on the Beach!

Just a quick check in today. My husband and I plan to enjoy the beautiful weather and take our dog to a local state park and hike along some of the trails. Should make for a fun day!

This weekend, being out of town was tough for me eating wise. Needless to say...despite my enjoyment of Dairy Queen cake and a couple of cookies, I am still down a pound this morning! I am now just 4 pounds from my goal and oh so excited that my body could tolerate the things I have eaten in the past couple of days without too many changes in weight!

Back to plan today however because I felt so sick after eating so much sugar. I feel so close to my goal and would still like to continue to build muscle and tone up my body. That is where I feel like I am lacking most right now. Well, I hope everyone has a great day!

Only time for a quick hi. I'm about to grab lunch and then do a full body workout with weights. After that I'm taking the girls to my parents. We usually go there on Sundays but they were at their lake house an extra day. Chloe (my 3 1/2 year old) starts preschool tomorrow. I can't believe it. We've been reading books on starting preschool to her so hopefully she won't be too scared.

Hi Beachers!
I'm back and hope you all had a nice weekend. Doing laundry right now and my husband is making dinner. I'm giving the flex points another round, so I'm not eating just SB friendly foods. I'm journaling every bite and we'll see how it goes. It seems that my body doesn't tolerate high carby foods very well anymore, so I know I can always modify my plan.
to everyone!
