*♥*TGIF Check In*♥* 9/2

Evening/morning beach babes...

Hope everyone has a good Friday!

I had a good day, I'm loving these perfect days. My weight loss hasn't been easy for August, I've had to me dig down and work for it and do some tweaking. It's not a lot, but it's positive! Not in lbs up, but in a few down. What an awesome support group we have! Thanks.

I hope by getting going early, some beachcombers can get in an early hi.

As Sharon says, let's keep it beachy,

Marva

Hi Fellow Beachers,
I do really love this support group and have had a perfect day all this week. I'm doing a modified version of Phase 2 and using WW Flex Points also. I'm still holding steady and hoping for a loss in the morning.

What are everyone's plans for the weekend? My husband, son and I are going to a friend of our's cabin in a place called Crooked River Ranch which is near a town called Bend in Central Oregon. We've been there once before and he gave us the keys and let us use the place for the weekend. We were there the weekend of August 6th of last year, when I was offered the job I have now. I had been offered another position within the same company I am at now, but it paid less than what I get now. I was offered this job in the nick of time, so I could turn the other offer down before I was to start the following Monday.

As much as I enjoy my job, I am looking forward to the long weekend. I can't believe our son is starting first grade next Monday. Where does the time go?

Good Morning All!

I'm up early this morning, re-reading the Phase 1 portion of the SBD book. I need to make a grocery list so that I am really prepared to jump onto Phase 1 tomorrow! I have been reviewing all the stickies; so much great information there! I have to say I am excited to get started! And if not determined enough to succeed before my little detour to the hospital, I certainly am now!

My plans are to spend time at my sewing machine this weekend. Since I probably won't be up to gardening which was my plan, I can still be productive!

Here's wishing everyone a wonderful Friday!

Good morning ladies,

Only time for a quick post right now. There is some type of flu bug going around and it's tagged me. I went home from work yesterday and went to bed at 6:30. I don't think I've ever gone to bed that early before. I had to come in today or I wouldn't get paid for the holiday - sigh. Of course there are bigger problems in this world than my achy body so I won't complain too much.

I start my modified phase 1 on Monday. I just don't think I can stomach a full blown no grain week but I'll be following the BFL eating method which is no whole grains in the evening. I hope to be feeling up to snuff by Monday so I can increase my work outs back up to 7 days per week. That's one of my goals for September to be able to work out everyday starting September 5th. I am hoping to be back at my all time low weight at the end of the month. TOM is on the way and that explains the 3 pounds I gained this week (notwithstanding my lax eating) which I am seeing go back down now.

My plans for the weekend include preparing some food tomorrow morning (SBD friendly of course) for a bbq we are invited to and then just relaxing and enjoying the rest of the long weekend. I'm so glad I took Tuesday off so when I leave the office today I won't be back until Wednesday!

Marva - I love your idea of a having one perfect day and then repeating it. I'm joining you on Monday! Have a great long weekend!!

Stephanie - I can relate to how you feel about your little one. I remember my son's first day of kindergarden and here he just had his first day of high school last week as a senior. These past 18 years have seemed to fly by. My son drives, has a job, his own money and pretty much doesn't seem to need me anymore. I'm sure that's not true but it just seems that way most days. Sigh. I know growing up is a part of life but why do our kids have to grow up so fast? Enjoy your weekend at the cabin!

Hi to Penny, Chris and Dana!

Good morning ladies!!

I have had a great week! I am looking forward to ph1 on Monday though. Maybe it will jump start my weight loss again.
We are having family out tomorrow for a bbq. Having any kindof get together creates stress for me, even if they are the most easy going people on earth. To top it off it's my husband's side of the family. They are great don't get me wrong, I just stress easily. I'll be glad when it's over.

Marva I know what you mean about having to work real hard this month. I feel like I have been doing that as well. It will pay off for us in the end though! Hope you have a nice weekend!
Lisa I hope you are feeling better soon.
anadday I am doing ph1 Monday as well...Maybe that will get us back on track!
redqueen Good luck! You can do it...
moonstruck Hope you have a great weekend at the ranch it sounds like so much fun!!

Hi !! and

Get yourself a copy of:

South Beach Diet Good Fats/Good Carbs Guide: The Complete and Easy Reference for All Your Favorite Foods

It's paperback and I take it to the grocery store with me.....it fits in my pocket book.....there are Phase 1 and Phase 2 lists, and lists grouped by category.

That should read "Tuesday". Good Morning Beachers! I tried WW flex points for a few days, eating all types of food (within my points) and I'm up a pound. I think I will re-read my SB book and do a strict phase 1 - which I didn't do before. Before I was using yogurt and shakes. I gotta get this weight off.
Have a great weekend everyone!

Hi Ladies

Wow, SB and WW together - sounds like tooo much work for me. I tried tracking points and quickly gave up. That's why I took to SB - didn't track any amounts of anything. BUT...maybe it's time for me to try something new to kick myself in the butt. Good luck.

5th grader came home with homework - he was not pleased. Then we had one crazy night - we had to fit in a Taekwondo session since they can't go Saturday due to a wedding, then we didn't get to eat until 8 p.m. and then I had to make a dessert for a pot luck here at work (low fat brownies). They were off to bed then. At 7:05 (20 minutes to bus) I check his homework and half of it was wrong - he failed to read directions. Nothing like that stress of re-writing 6 sentences with minutes til the bus.

I've gained back that half pound I lost yesterday, but I'm moving on.....

Renee

Hi everyone!

I have been MIA...everything has been soooo hectic with work, starting grad school, ect.

Although I haven't been as dilligent as I should, I did at least see a loss this week of about .6 lbs...which is better than nothing!

Once my schedule works itself out, I am recommitting...gah! I can't wait for things to slow down a bit!

Hope everyone has a great long weekend!

Renee - I can sooo relate. I get home at 9 last night after working 14 hrs and as I'm putting DS to bed I asked if daddy checks his homework so dad comes in and says oh I forgot. So he starts checking it and everything is wrong so DS has to redo it. He is in 3rd grade. So DH starts raising his voice about DS not taking his time, won't be doing football if he doesn't start reading directions, yada yada. So it is 10 before he goes to bed. It should have been checked hours ago. Also DH forgot to sign him up for camp which fills up quick so I had to call all around yesterday to find him daycare the weeks of break coming up (he is year round). UGH, frustrating.

Marva - congrats on a perfect week. KUTGW! I had a few little slips but overall was very good. I didn't get to the gym as work has been busy and I was sick so next week I will get my butt in gear. I miss exercising.

moonstruck - that sounds like a nice, relaxing weekend. My office is closing at 1 today but us accountants will be here late and on Sun to close the month. DS has a pep rally and 1st football game and pool party tomorrow so that should be fun. Hopefully it won't be too hot on the field.

Lisa - hope you feel better soon

Hi to everyone else - not much time for indies. Have a great, SB weekend.

Denise

Afternoon all you gorgeous Beachie Babes!

I spent most of the morning in Diabetic class, but it was interesting. The dietician was there and she was very good. So, it was a good thing. I have 4 more classes to go.

I made the most AWESOME zucchini and mushroom lasagna the other night and hubby and I have been fighting over it! LOL!

Marva: I took your advice and made a big crockpot of Zero Point cabbage soup and it's good, but I made it a little too spicy, haha (I used a can of extra hot Rotel! )

Right now, I have some tortilla dough resting in the food processor and I'll make some whole wheat tortillas in a bit for the family.

I hope you all have a fantabulous day! Hugs from me!

It never ends. My husband is a cop and works second but we overlap a couple of hours 3 - 5 days a week. I have a high school student who comes on just the days we need her - been doing it this way for years with a few sitters. But she is a senior and said she'd be out at 11 a.m. then do a CNA job from 11:30 to 3:00 p.m. and continue to sit for me 3:30 - 5:30 on days needed. Fine, til last week, "they hired me but want me to work Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:00 - 9:00. Yikes. I'm upper management but work a later shift and my asst. works the earlier and I had to already arrange to leave early on Thursdays for DD #1's dance class - now I have to make arrangements for Tuesday too or find a back up. I've always worked later shift due to kids school schedule.

It's crazy trying to balane this all out and I'm not going to quit a job I love and because I didn't get a Masters degree +++ for nothing.

Hello everyone,

I'm glad to hear that everyone else is as crazy busy as I am!!

Down that pound I gained yesterday. Hoping for another loss tomorrow. We will see. I have been going back and forth between phase 2 depending on how I feel each day. Today was definitely a phase 2 day!

No big plans for the weekend. One of my college roommates and close friends was diagnosed with mouth cancer (non-smoker and is 23) in November. It has now spread to her lung, so she had surgery this past week and I might go and visit her this weekend. Just such a sad thing to happen to someone my age!

Anyways, on a lighter note. I have been so hungry lately, so now I must go fill my empty stomach. Will check back in again later.

Lacy
