Should I be a southbeacher ??
Hi guys ! I am lisa and have been posting on the main board. I been doing my own form of low carb and basically I have been eating as much veggies as I want and eating a bit of fruit here and there. Some of the others on the other side suggested that maybe I try this woe since I want unlimited veggies and to eat some fruit. I posted there that I went up 3lbs on the scale and was very upset about that. Thinking it may of been water, but its been 3 days and I still havent lost it ! I am not sure about the low fat and I know I cant eat breads, because they do not act favorably with me. Any suggestions ? Do I sound like a southbeacher ?

Hi Lisa! We'd love for you to join us, SBD is awesome and there's no need to not have fats, it's not about low fats, it's good fats and veggies, etc. There are several threads going now about the food, we have a book review going that should be helpful. You sound like a beach babe to me!

What about cravings ?? Do you see them coming back when you eat the higher carb foods ?

Sometimes, we all have them and if a food gives us a problem, we just drop it, regroup to P1 for a bit and move on adding and make a wiser choice. It's not just about high carbs, it's good carbs, low glycemic foods so the sugar rush isn't so bad. SBD is just like all programs, it's give us good choices, if we work it, it works.

There's a HUGE difference in Atkins and SB for ME. With Atkins, if i even breathed the smell of bread i would literally gain 10 pounds..it was horrible...with southbeach, i know i can bend the rules a little bit without major consequences.
The first 2 weeks are hard, but you HAVE to do them (and im in the process of doing them yet again LOL)..but after that you start incorporating the fruit back in or the bread..whichever you decide and you go from there... I thought southbeach was really complicated..i just didnt "get it".,..but i would highly suggest reading the book from cover to cover. Its actually VERY interesting (and im not usually into those types of books lol) but after i read it i totally understood it. Marva is right..its not about low fat/low carb..its about good fats and good carbs and i think it has a lot to do with low/no sugar. Definantly get the book though and see how you feel. Its worth giving a shot. Definantly a program that can be done for the rest of your life..the first that i've actually come upon (i did WW and was sick of counting everything lol) Good luck and we're here if you need us ![]()
