Meat and Egg Fast-The South Beach Way?

Has anyone tried a SBD friendly version of a meat and egg fast? I did it for one day and got so "backed up " that I stopped. Some people swear by the weight loss and I was just curious. Does anyone know why eliminating veggies promotes such a quick weight loss?

True Story: After I was born, my mom ate nothing but cottage cheese and tuna fish (mixed together) for thirty days and lost 28 pounds. I tried it a few years ago and got.. ...after the third day. It makes me to think about it.

I know on Atkins that veggies were my only carbs in early stages of the program. Good carbs, but by eliminating the carbs your body goes straight to fat burning mode. This is why you would lose quick. If your body has little or no carbs to burn your body will burn fat next (try to think of the runner who eats pasta and rice before a race......he eats that stuff for energy.....energy to burn......if you remove the carbs, the body burns fat for energy).

Was the meat low fat (96/4), and were you using "egg beaters".? Maybe you were too low fat on the days that you couldnt go. I remember Oprah saying "If you eliminate too much fat, you will have a hard time eliminating"

I haven't ever done the egg/meat fast but I've read about those that are doing it.

I guess the closest I ever came to doing it was when I did Atkins 72. I never got into ketosis, think it was because I chewed too much sf gum.

During and after my first pregnancy, I craved fried eggs and pinto beans, how funny is that. It work out good though as we didn't have much money and both were cheap.
