Happy Friday!

I ate on plan again yesterday, and added in strawberries for the first time...so far that is the only part of Phase 2 that I've eaten, I'm liking this Phase 1.5 for now!

Well, this weekend I go to my mother in law's and we will see what healthy options I can pick from when she cooks. (she is very sensitive about weight issues, so I don't want to make a point that what she makes/serves isn't healthy enough for me...)

I figure I will bring some healthy snacks with me so that when lunch or dinner comes around I'm not starving and indulge in her country cooking!

Good Morning fellow beach babes and welcome to our new members. My Tanita scale said 179 this morning, so that's two pounds so far lost for me this week-which I'm very pleased with. Matthew is better today, but still coughing with a runny nose, so he's staying home with Paul today. We told him we'd take him to see "Batman Begins" tomorrow, so hopefully he'll feel better soon.

TGIF everyone and have a great day on the beach!

Yipee, It's Friday! Lots of good stuff going on here- My DS2 came home from grandma's yesterday- all 3 of my chicks are safely in the nest- and my bra is too big! Aren't "the girls" always the first to go??? Oh well, at least something is shrinking. I am not one to use the scale alot, I like to judge by how my clothes fit.
Sugarbutt- you are a brave woman. I don't know if I could resist the country cooking! I started a thought yesterday and got sidetracked- but you guys on this board are so good about being prepared and planning ahead. I guess that is truly one of the keys to success. Marva- I remember being in that zone last time I did SB- I'm so happy for you, and I'm feeling inspired to have my "perfect day" as well. Steph- how is your DS- I hope he is feeling better today. Woops- I took too long posting- thanks for the update!!
Everyone have a great day- it's Friday, so it has to be better than yesterday!

Good morning all....

DH home sick with stomach flu today, so I won't be going anywhere with the kids. Sticking to 1.5 plan pretty well... the PMS gets to be overwhelming sometimes! I could eat a grocery store!! LOL!

Have a great day!

Morning!
hubby went fishing in the rain today <snicker> so i am footloose and fancy free til suppertime. Haven't eaten all of my plan today, more thirsty than hungry in this heat. We had 2 days over 100 degrees, slightly cooler here now, thank goodness.
Need advice on what to put on pan-grilled fish for flavor if the rainmen catch any, i usually do lemon juice and dill pickle tartar sauce from atkins, but that won't work on sbd 1.

Marva---have fun with Day 5 of perfect!!
Moon---2 pounds is great! Yippee!
bry--us B-cup girls are the cool kids anyway
Renee and moon--hope your dear ones are better soon.

Morning all, doing a drive by before things get rolling around here today, I'm cooking dd2's bd dinner tonight, steaks and salad, grilled mushrooms. I'll fix the guys a spud.

Emel, I sprinkle cajun blackening seasoning on my fish. I also fix a seafood dipping sauce with a can of tomato sauce with ground horseradish. Works for us.
Reg, hope the weigh-in went good.
Sugar, good luck at mil's. Yah on taking the snacks.
Steph, yah on the 2 lbs! Glad your son is feeling better.
ReneeBW, ugh, hope dh gets to feeling better, good job staying on plan.
Michelle, I always liked my chicks home safe too, bet he had a good time.

Hope everyone has a good one!

Had to jump back in and edit that I liked my chicks home, not like since they're grown.

Also, Lacy has a fish recipe in the recipe and food ideas thread at the top, it looks good....

Hi Rae, have a good one!

Hello on the beach! SANDY!

I noticed that there is more than one Renee so feel free to call me by my one and only nickname "Rae". I'm not really into nicknames but that one is special to me because someone very dear to my heart gave it to me.

Well, I must say that I went to my doctor yesterday for a checkup - I had a miscarriage about a month ago - the good news is that everything is okay physically and we can start trying again soon. My doctor said she was so proud of me because when they did the weigh-in I had lost 5 pounds! Yippee!

DH and I were going to buy a house but with this market we've decided to do what the real estate people are doing - rent for now and wait until the "bubble burst". We ain't payin' $700,000 for a 1200 square foot house! Anyway, DH and I found a few awesome houses for rent up in the hills and we are going to see them this weekend.

MARVA: We definitely have it going on here on the beach and I am in my zone as well. I love this one perfect day at a time idea - wonderful! I'm geared up for yet another perfect day.

MOON: Glad to hear that Mathew is doing a little better. I hope he is up and about soon. Give him some hugs for me. CONGRATULATIONS on losing 2 more pounds. Is today a WATP day for you? I'm going to do my 3-mile this morning.

RENEEBW: I am praying that everything goes well for your son and your DH. With PMS on top of all that, you have your hands full. It's good that you are taking the time off to give your muscles a break. You're doing a great job with your workouts and staying OP in spite of everyday challenges. Keep up the awesome work!

REG: Good luck with your weigh-in. Let us know how it goes.

SUGARBUTT: That's excellent planning for going over to your MIL's house.

MICHELLE: Great job on losing those inches! I also judge more by my clothes than the scale. I'm laughing at myself because just the other day DH asked me if my boobs and backside were getting smaller and I proudly responded, "Hell yeah!" He got this sad look on his face and said, "I don't know if I like that... I mean, I'm proud of you, but... well, anyway don't lose TOO much there." Men!

EMEL: I love fresh fish. I'll have to look up this fish recipe that I used once that had cumin in it. It was delicious. I'll search my recipe files - and I do mean files. I love cooking.

Hello to everyone that follows. Have a wonderful day!

Rae

hello all
to all the new people who have joined
rae--- sorry. glad things are going better now . congrats on the 5 lb loss
emel---sorry i dont eat fish, so i have no suggestions... but the cajun seasoning sounds good that marva suggested
reneeb---sorry dh is sick...and pms sucks.
michelle---no my "girls" wont go away yet and i have been praying that they would be the 1st to go...not all of them, but atleast a cup size
moonstruck---glad ds is feeling better.. and congrats on the 2lbs
sugarbutt---mmmmm strawberries. perhaps you and dh could offer to take them out to dinner one of the nights you are there and go somewhere where you can eat safe foods (with leftovers) and maybe to breakfast one morning where you could get safe food again...it would be a nice treat for them and good for you to help with your eating without the sensitivity issues ...the snacks are a great idea also
reg---good luck with your weigh in.. i am sure you will do great...
marva---sounds like you are in the zone

i had a good day yesterday... went shopping all day.. got a cute skirt at old navy size 12 , which i should have tried on because it is a tad big
i also got a pair of gap pants in a size 12 too
i wanted to buy more but i have to pace myself because i dont plan on staying in any of these clothes for too long... they are just stopping off points to my goal weight
i didnt get to officially exercise, but i did walk around all day and then go out dancing.. and trust me i worked my legs and butt
hope everyone who hasnt checked in lately is still doing great and hello to all who post after me
have a great day

Rae....I'm sorry to hear of your m/c . Glad you got the go ahead from the doctor !!

I luv going to see my doctors now.....all of them know me from when I was 240-250. My cardiologist always has something nice to say.

WOW $700,000 !! Yikes !! That's a lot of dough. Where do you live? We bought our house in 1999 for $140,000 and we can sell it today for close to $400,000, and we've "only" put about $25,000 worth of work in (roof, siding, upstairs bathroom, all new windows). Crazy how high prices are.

I wanted to share a thought for the day that I believe is very insightful and gave me a lot to think about:

Quote:
On being overly critical of ourselves: Inner dialog is very important. Sometimes we may think or say statements to ourselves like, "I'm fat and disgusting" or "I'll never lose weight permanently" or even "I've messed up again, I'm worthless!" The next time our thoughts are headed in that direction, just think for a minute... if we said those types of things to our best friend, would we still have a best friend? Would that person appreciate those type of negative statements? Well, we are our own best friend and so we deserve the same support, love and concern that we would show our other friends.
DANA: Way to go!!! A size 12 that is too small - that is excellent! Dancing is fantastic exercise. I took various types of dance for years and I love it. My latest thing is hula which is so much fun and really works your arms, abs, legs and thighs.

REG: I see you too - CONGRATULATIONS on losing those two pounds and for all of your hard work thus far. You are gettin' lean and mean girl! I love your pic, you are absolutely beautiful. We live in the San Francisco Bay Area. It is gorgeous, the weather is perfect, but houses are extremely expensive right now. We are just going to wait it out until the market bubble bursts. We would love to move, but I share custody of my son with my ex.

KATHY: CONGRATULATIONS to you too on your perfect day and in doing one mile of walking in spite of being so busy at work. Keep up the good work!

Rae

Thank you for the kind words everyone. Lowcarbmama, today is an off day for me. Right now I'm doing WATP Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sundays. Annaday, Matthew is feeling better-thank you for asking. I just can't stop kissing him and when he's asleep, that's when I can get him the most. I love him so much.

Are olives, artichoke hearts and pickles allowed? My husband is making my dinner and I didn't see it in the Good Fats Good Carbs guide. Also, I have a dressing called Bernstein's Light Fantastic. Anyone ever try it? It looks South Beach friendly to me and is low fat and no sugar.

Have a nice, cool evening beach babes! It's 94 right now here.
