Hi Marva and fellow beachers!
My husband just asked me how much money you have, Marva! So far this week, I've been the first one to check in. It must be because I'm on the computer 24/7-at work and home. I love you guys! Are we ready for another perfect on the beach day? I sure am!

Good morning everyone!

Busy day today - running around doing errands, taking oldest son back to cardiologist for a few more tests and cleaning up the mess around the house.

Not working out tonight - need a day off to let my muscles rest! Ouch!

Have a great day!

Good morning beachbabes!
Marva--funny, I like it when MY hubby stays OUT of the kitchen!!
Moon--I work from computer at home, so I feel like I'm always on, too.
Renee--ouch on the sore muscles and wtg on the workouts that got them that way. Prayers for your son's good test results.

Grocery shopping day for me. Getting a little wigged out with me on SBD 1 and hubby on Atkins OWL. At least the foods on both programs avoid all the evil aisles---get away from me, Little Debbie, and take Captain Crunch with you!!!

Good Morning!

Not much to check in with today. I did well and stayed on plan yesterday and took the pup for a nice long walk!

Today is a busy one, but hope to be able to go for another walk tonight if I make it home before dark!

I hope your DS is OK and the tests go well. What kind of tests? (if that's not too nosey of me.....I'm a cardiac patient as well, and I am both interested and concerned)

There is one Little Debbie in the fridge (DS got it at his swimming lesson celebration party and "I want to save it"). Of course it's a brownie

Good Morning Marva and fellow beachers. I have some good and bad news. The bad news is our 6 year-old son woke up this morning with a 102 degree temperature, but now it's down to 100. I am staying home with him today and he should be fine. He hardly ever gets sick, so I'm sure it will be fine. It's another beautiful day in the Pacific Northwest and the good news is......drum roll please....I am down a pound to 179!

I decided to eliminate the plain yogurt for now and stick with lean protein, salads and some occasional dairy. When I did South Beach last summer I ate the quiche cups every morning for breakfast with coffee and V-8, my mid-morning snack was celery stuffed with light laughing cow cheese or peanut butter, lunch was usually a salad, mid-afternoon snack was string cheese and dinner was usually lean protein. I lost 7 pounds in two weeks eating this way. I'm also going to stop having my whey protein powder shakes in the morning-even though they're South Beach friendly-and stick with eggs. I love eggs. Have a great South Beach day, everyone!

Good morning everyone. I didn't get to check in yesterday- my ds was on the computer everytime I had a minute, and he has been so good about practicing his cello lately- I let him play. Yesterday was not a perfect day-- I let stress get to me too easily. But, today will be better. I go to the Dr today for my foot, and hopefully he will let me start to do more- my sweet dh bought new bikes for the whole family so we could all go ride together, and I am looking forward to joining in! I need to look back and see why everyone is after Stephs hubby- miss a day around here and I am totally lost! You guys are so good

Dana- Congrats. It isn't the wedding that is the important part- it is the marriage, so do what makes you happy and enjoy your time together. I still get butterflies thinking about my DH and we have been married 14 years this Oct. I'm very happy for you!
Everyone have a good day-- I may have more time later to catch up on the husband auctions.

Michelle

Michelle,
My husband does all the cooking and has for the entire 7 1/2 years we've been together. He will make me South Beach friendly meals all the time and is just the best-not just because he cooks-but because he's a wonderful human being. I just wish he'd do something about his own weight problems, but there's nothing I can do about that. I love him just the way he is-I just want him to be healthy.

Well, I better go....my son wants to use the computer. Have a great day everyone!

Morning ladies!

Dana, I still want to call you ana, what a neat idea getting married in Vegas. That's awesome about the dress and I think you deserve a on smart shopping. Congrats, we wish you the best!

Kathy, I am so into this one perfect day with you. It's also good discipline for a longtime SBDer to know they can go back to square one with the new SBDers and show them and ourselves it's for a lifetime and we don't need to get so far away from it that we can't step back easily. Awesome!

Sugar, great on staying on play and the exercise!

Emel, that is so awesome dh and you working together. I've never felt SBD was really more than a decimal away from those on Atkins OWL who eat lean. I just never wanted to take the time to learn carb counts and SBD make it easy not to. Good luck with the shopping. Yah on the no way to -------->>>Debbie and Crunch,

ReneeBW, I everything goes well with you Son today. I can almost feel you feeling overwhelmed and stressed. Hope it turns out to be a good day for you.

Steph, isn't that just like a man, he's a real keeper! All of us SBDers are always thankful for our dh's and partners who are so supportive. I'm always glad to see your check in. I hope your crossing over is going well and it seems to that it is as sometimes there's a fluid gain.

Well, I have good news to report......the 3 one perfect days have helped me lose the upped exercise fluid gain of 3 lbs and I'm back to my siggy. Now, I'm ready to see 159 real soon and I think I can, I think I can.

I hope everyone has a great day and keep on with just one perfect day, it works!

Come on over.... everyone meet us in the Christmas Challenge!

ETA: Sorry guys, I missed some checking in before hitting send......

Reg..Hi! Hope your day goes well..and

Steph, so sorry your son is sick and awesome on the weight loss , that was what I was hoping to hear. Way to go on learning to tweak your program!

Hi Michelle, hope today is better and the news is good from the Dr. and wow, you'd got a great dh too! Mine is also awesome, very supportive!

Hi to all who follow!

Good morning everyone! It's another perfect day for me. I can't wait to take my measurements next week. My pants are really getting loose. Yesterday the long term disability insurance company settled my claim! Now I can put that behind me and focus on the custody stuff. I'm just taking one thing at a time. This morning I did twenty minutes on my elliptical. I just put on my wireless headphones and jammed. I also tried one of those Revitalize shakes and it was very good. I made the shake with 4 oz water, 4 oz milk and a bit of Crystal Light.

I'll be back a bit later to post personals. Have a great day everyone!

Renee

Hey everyone - I'm in and out today. Pretty busy! I don't really have time for personals - SORRY!!!

I'm holding here at 149 - I mentioned this on the challenge thread. I wasn't supposed to weigh but yesterday temptation got me and I weighed! But 149 is good b/c I had gone back up to like 151 the other day in water weight I had assumed from too many legals (over did it in SF treats!!). Anyway I hope everyone has a great day. I'll try to check back later this afternoon - but if not, have a wonderful weekend!

I'm Here

and checking in. Think I'm up a pound but don't care due to TOM.

Work is extremely stressful. Just asked my boss if I could have a six month leave of absence to regain my sanity and she just laughed and said, "welcome to my world." She's great - this was all in fun, of course.

Had a teacher who came in with an hour and weight restriction that I cannot accommodate and had to put her on a leave. Trying to juggle her kids into other classrooms, notify parents, come up with alternative plans, interview for temporary teachers etc. Feel like ripping my head off since it's swirling so much. Thank god for some of my other staff - they'll hold down the fort even though it means more work for them until we come up with some other plan of action.

Other than that - hanging in there - eating better overall still but cheating daily.

Have to be honest. Renee

Hi all -

Thanks for the prayers for my son.... My son was diagnosed when he was 7 with Aortic Stenosis - basically when the aortic valve opens, oxygen rich (red) blood flows from the left ventricle to the aorta. (That's the large artery that sends oxygen rich blood through the body.) Stenosis (narrowing) of the aortic valve makes it hard for the heart to pump blood to the body. Aortic stenosis occurs when the aortic valve didn't form properly. A normal valve has 3 parts (leaflets or cusps), but a stenotic valve may have only one cusp (unicuspid) or two cusps (bicuspid), which are thick and stiff. Eventually replacing the valve with an artificial one may be needed.

If you think of your heart being at 0% perfect (nothing wrong with it) and 100% being surgery intervention, my son is at 95%. This last year his heart had become worse and he needs meds to be on to control the blood pressure around his heart. Since his last appt. we've been going back and forth to the cardiologist to have his meds and blood pressure checked to make sure he will be okay. The cardiologist is hoping we can put off heart surgery for a loooooong time!

Thanks again for all the prayers, I truly appreciate it!

Poor little guy . I can relate. I have cardiac problems as well. I almost needed surgery too....luckily meds helped me avoid that. I will need to have a valve replaced in my lifetime, but we are doing everything possible to put it off for a long time too. Continued prayers going up for you guys

Hi Everyone and welcome to anyone who is new. I did my two-mile Walk Away The Pounds today and what a workout. I love using my 5-pound weights and am going to do this workout for a while. I feel better than I do when I walk three miles on my treadmill.

I just got back from Costco, GNC and Safeway. Our little guy is asleep on the couch, but his fever is going down. I have such a great job and a cool boss who's very understanding. If Matthew is still sick tomorrow, Paul is staying home with him.

I hope he feels better soon..... we love him so much.

Woo Hoo!!

Woo Hoo I have my front teeth back!!! After the long dentist appt. I now have that behind me. I checked the scale this morning and now I'm in the 30's!!! I have been struggling for over a year in the 40's and now that is behind me as well. 200 pounds here I come! Then the next milestone! My set goal weight somewhere between 140-145.

I got my 1 mile walk in this evening and took my DH a long with me. That was sure fun and made the walk go by so much faster. I also drank my 100 oz of water. Now it's time to read everyone's post. Have a nice evening.
