Anyone ever do "Walk Away The Pounds?"

I have a regular gym here at home, I have:
a treadmill that has so many miles on it, but it keeps going
an elliptical trainer
and several exercise DVDs, including, but not limited to, "Walk Away The Pounds." The nice thing is I actually use them! My sister-in-law who is getting bigger every time I see her, uses her treadmill to hang her clothes on.

When I was a stay-at-home mom, I walked three miles a day/six days a week on my treadmill for years, but eventually got bored, so we got the elliptical a few years ago. However, when I do my 30 minutes on it, 20 minutes into it - my feet get numb. I've read articles about this happening to other women. Tonight, I did WATP and feel great! I have the one, two and three miles and chose the two-mile walk. It's not just walking, but using all the muscles and is a great workout.

Where's the whoosh fairy?

WTG with your exercise - you rock! Yes, I love WATP! I also have the WATP cassette which is great when you are on the road. Another great walking workout is Prevention's Walk Your Way Slim with Michelle Dozois. It is a lot of fun and features more moves than WATP. What I really like about the workout is that there are three women in the workout including the instructor and they are each working at three different fitness levels. The instructor starts off with a "base move" and builds upon it with each level - level three being the most challenging. You can stay at one particular level or switch back and forth. I alternate this video with my WATP workouts.

i like watp because it is very flexible. I have the 4 mile video, and it tells you on the screen when you have hit one mile, 2 miles, and 3 miles. I do as much as I can, and sometimes I start the routine at the 2 or 3 mile mark just for variety.

I also like that I can adjust the intensity of the arm and leg motions to match my abilities.

Renee, it seems WATP is better for me than plain old walking on the treadmil. Have a great day!

I have the DVD and I really like it. I haven't been doing it at all lately. Maybe we could do some type of challenge with WATP. If I did that it would make me do it.

I'm in, Kathy! Let's do it! I love WATP and feel like I get a better workout than the treadmill. How long have you sold Avon? I sold it for 2 1/2 years and stopped about a year ago.

Hey Moon, I have been selling Avon for 3yrs now. I really love it too. I want to do it fulltime in about a year or two.

What kind of challenge would you like to do? What about doing it for 30mins. everyday or do the 1mile walk for a week and the move to the 2 mile walk.

I haven't done it in awhile, so I would need to get back in the swing of it.

Let me know what you think.

I LOVE WATP!!!
The 4 mile walk is awesome.
It's a total body workout.
I have not done the whole tape.
But that is one of my goals.
I usually do 1 mile and start the next mile the next day.
I haven't exercised in sooooo long.
Today was my first day back on track.
I walked 1 mile outside this morning.
Have a great day.
Yvonne

Kathy,
Right now, I'm doing at least four days a week of WATP, my treadmill, or elliptical. Why don't we start with doing at least four days a week of some kind of exercise. What do you think? I do Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturdays. I would do more, but my schedule doesn't always permit it, but I can do AT LEAST those days.

Good for you on your success with Avon. I wanted to make it full time, but never put enough time into it to make that happen. I did become a Certified Beauty Advisor, but never got any recruits. I would get the web site, cancel, get it again and cancel again. I could never make up my mind. Good for you, I would eventually like to work for myself.

I will do it 4 days a week. I think this will really help me. I'm ready to start tonight if you want to.

I'm starting tonight too. I'll do the 2-mile walk at the very least. I think our goal should be to do some form of exercise for at least 30 minutes four days a week or more.
