Good Evening Marva and fellow beachers,
It's day #2 of me being 100% on plan and staying on the beach. I'm so determined and am tired of my pants being so tight that it's uncomfortable. I only have about 35 pounds to lose and I'd like to achieve it by December, doing whatever it takes. Tonight, my husband made me a small hamburger patty, with a slice of reduced-fat swiss, some mock potatoes and a two fried eggs. I ate it all and didn't feel too full at all, but I think I will ask him to make my portions a little smaller. I am so grateful that he does all the cooking in our household. He really enjoys it. I decided to cut down my water from six quarts a day to five-which is still 160 ounces. I'm going to do my 3-mile walk right now on my treadmill and then take a shower. I walk four days a week for 45 minutes. Have a great evening everyone and another 100% on plan day on the beach. We can do this together!!! ![]()

I love the one perfect day at a time idea! I've been out of town again at a meeting and missed the start of it. I am getting better at finding "on plan meals" when I go to eat with a group. I don't always have control of the type of food. Today we were at this wonderful Italian Market. Oh my goodness the pizza and pasta looked sooooo good, but I stuck to my plan and got a salad. It was really good. I do believe I have had a "perfect day"
Moonstruck! I wish I would have ordered one of those "cooking husbands" like you got! WoW Marva thank you for the info about the Carbquick. I have not ever used whole wheat flour? You are such a wealth of information and support Thank you!

Hi beachers! I am loving the exercise challenge post we have going on here as well as the 100% stay true to the plan! You guys are awesome! I did a treadmill walk tonight and weight lifting today with the Buff Brides book.
This weekend my sister in-law said it looked as if I was back at the weight I was at for their wedding last October and I laughed! I was about 20 pounds lighter at their wedding. The only thing I can imagine is that the weight lifting and exercise is toning me while the pounds are staying? I don't know but the comment had me floored nonetheless. Off to redecorate the bedroom and watch a movie- energizer bunny I swear! Jessica

Hi all... Still here and plugging way. Our corporate agent is on vacation this week so I am her fill in and boy am I busy..Not much computer time.
I havent gotten much sleep the last 2 nights because I have been going to bed with migraines. Besides prescription, the only thing that get rid of the headaches are ES excedrin white pill but the caffeine keeps me up. I would rather be awake with no headache than awake with a headache. I am catching up with the last 2 days worth of threads. Weight down to 133. I havent been to the gym in almost 3 weeks. Until I get the migraines under control I cant. DD and I have eye dr appts Friday. Then next Friday DH and I have physicals. Then middle of August DD and I have dentist. Wow, I will be glad to see Sept come and these doctors out of my life for a year. LOL Looks like everyone is doing great. My neighbor came over the other day and started asking me about my weight loss. She has been on WW since Jan 05 and has lost 18lbs. I told her about SB and she may be starting it. We may have another convert. Heat here is terrible as is around the country. Heat indexes of over 100 degrees. Did I mention how hot it is here? Gotta run and try to lay down and get to sleep. Gotta get up in 5.5 hours for another grueling day. Take care all!!!!!!!!!

Good morning!
Well it is official, I have lost 6lbs on Phase 1! I am really excited about moving forward, albeit slowly! The heat here finally broke so I can start taking my pup for long walks again (poor thing would go about 3 steps in the heat and sit down and stare at me!) This weekend may be a challenge as we are visiting my inlaws and she makes bounds of sugary desserts and country-type cooking. *sigh* Trying to figure out my plan of attack for this one! Hope everyone has a great Wednesday! |

Good morning all! I know I shouldn't weigh myself each morning.... but I'm so anxious to see something other than 170! It will come - I think I should be thankful that the first ELEVEN came off so quickly! I switched to Phase II after the first week of Phase I because I was feeling weak (I'm nursing a 17 month old & training for a 1/2 maraton). Anyway, I'm still going down.
I've noticed from everyones' stats that there are a few other TALL South Beachers. I also noticed that our weight goals varied. How did (all of you) arrive at determining your goal weight? I picked 160 because I've weighed that before - and even though it doesn't sound super trim, I feel it's realistic. ![]()

Good Morning beachers,
I'm still at 180 this morning. Maybe too much dairy? I'm having one serving of 1% milk and one serving of non-fat yogurt a day and this is day #3 for me of Phase 1. When I lost 7 pounds in two weeks last summer on South Beach, I was eating more veggies and eggs. Maybe that's the key? ![]() |

Morning beach babes!
Wow, looks like just one perfect day is working great for us. . All I can say is, just the thought of being accountable to you all has kept me legal beagle!!! I'm with you Kathy, it's gonna be another good one, we can make it happen. k-t, good luck with p2, we're so glad you've joined in!sugar, 6 lbs Steph, that might be a good idea to drop a serving of the yogurt, I am soooo jealous, does your dh like older women? Hi ReneeBW and Reg, hope you have a good day too! Pom, hugs, hope you get to feeling better and get some sleep. Sounds like things are really busy for you, take care and great on the weight! Woo hoo Jessica, looking good. Sounds like a busy day and I'm ready to get the heck out of this town, Penny, I love the one perfect day too! Sounds like you handled things nicely yesterday, woo hoo. Sharon posted another awesome loss yesterday, , she's one of our poster girls!!! Thinking of you, hope your day goes well with your Dad.My best friend and neighbor dropped by yesterday to share a bushel of peaches with me. I bought my half because she's so special for always remembering me, I kept dh 3 of them, and sent all the others off with my kiddos. Well, I've got to get stepping, didn't get my exercise in yesterday due to that dizzy spell (inner ear)... Do y'all know what Dr. Phil says about exercise? He says you don't have to like it......you just gotta do it..... AND...I'm gonna be a good beacher and do it!Hope everyone has a good one! Marva |

hi all, awesome successes logged in by all! I'm honored to be hanging around all this perfection!
Had a little trouble getting rolling this morning--I have back problems and the pain was giving me nausea, so I had v8 and celery earlier and am just getting around to breakfast now (1045). I made a big spinach quiche-like thing yesterday so I don't have to dirty up an egg pan every day...lazy me! No weight loss today but still grinning about yesterday's 2 pound drop. I plan on checking the scales daily during the first two weeks on the plan and then only hopping on the scales once a week in phase 2....I'd rather see a week's worth of progress instead of viewing fractional losses day by day. |

good day all
emel--- hope the nausea is bettermoonstruck---yeah i dont remember...but i dont think i added yogurt in until after i went to phase 2, maybe that will help you maybe the eggs and veggies would be a good idea..let us know how it works kathy---glad to see the "one perfect day" is working for you k-t----are you running or walking in the 1/2 marathon? when are you doing it..keep us updated on it..is it your 1st one? and to answer your "goal" weight question... i am 5'4 (26 yrs old) and i always weighed 120-128 in high school, given i was very athletic and played sports all the way through, i weighed 135 about 5-6 yrs ago and i think that is ideal for me and my body(cuz the boobs are big even with weighing less ) so 130's is were i want to get but when i get there i will re-evaluate and see if i want to try for lesssugarbutt---- on the 6lb loss... do your inlaws know about you doing SBD? she may be willing to cook more thinkings on plan if she knows if not just take on plan stuff with you and i am sure she will understand pompom---wow sound like you are a busy lady this month....hope the migraines get better jessica--- does it say how many more miles until we leave the 1st city? i feel like such a slacker on the days i dont work...because the days i work i get over 10000 steps without trying but then when i dont work it take effort just to get 1000-6000 in i really like the exercise challenge we are doing too, i have a hard time with staying focused on exercise and i actually did what i had planned yesterday(be it at 4 am) but if it wasnt for the challenge we had set up... there is a good chance i would have "just started tomorrow" congrats on the compliment pennypower--- hi reg and reneeb hope you are having great days marva---could you mail me a peach to sc i bought some blueberries yesterday yummmm glad your balance is back i went out to eat last night and this place has the biggest sweetpotatoes that i have ever seen, i got a 12oz sirloin and it is atleast twice as big as the steak... so i have plenty of steak and sweet potato left over the only bad thing is i dont get the cinnamon on it when i go becuase i think the have the cinnamon/sugar mixed together... but i will be having some cinnamon on my leftovers i think i am going to the movies tonight.. we were going to go last night but just had movie night at home..so gonna go see wedding crashers tonight hope everyone has a great day... and go take a break after reading my long replies ![]()

What a lively group today! Keep up the great work you all are doing.
I didn't have my 2 mi walk today as my knees were a little sore. After taking dad to his appointment that was just about all I could do. I did drink 125 oz of water though. That is a big accomplishment for me as I usually drink other stuff instead and just kept grabbing the water bottle. I'm going to weigh again Monday to see if I'm still losing. Controlling my portions has been the best thing for me. I am so glad to see that scale co-operating once again. I'm seeing what can happen when I have those perfect days and I like what I'm seeing. Have a nice evening all. It's 3 pm here so I just may try to take a short walk.

It is really good to hear from everyone today. I haven't weighed in lately because I have been getting up really early and have been out of the house each day. I plan on weighing in sometime at the middle of next week and see how my weight has changed. I really don't care about the individual pounds because I am still enjoying the SBD so much. I love the foods and I have felt so much healthier and better about my body since I started on it two weeks ago. I think I am going to try to continue on with phase one although I did add some yogurt yesterday and today. And today, I had my first glass of wine in two weeks. It was really good! I think I'm heading to bed early tonight. I have another long day tomorrow. Good to hear from everyone!
