Hi Marva,
Thanks for welcoming me. Hi fellow beachers! I'm just loving the beach! This is what I'm planning for tomorrow's menu:
B - 8 ounces of 1% milk with two scoops of whey protein powder with an egg blended in, coffee w/ ff mocha mix

S - 4 ounces plain ff yogurt w/ 1 tbsp. cool whip lite

L - Summer veggie salad (tomatoes, cucumbers, white onions, seasoned vinegar) this salad is very, very good!
small chicken salad

S - string cheese

D - Samon patty and mock mashed potatoes (cauliflower w/ margarine)

I used to drink TWO gallons of water daily, but now I do 6 quarts.

I walk four days a week on my treadmill for 45 mintutes (3 miles)

Thanks for starting this one up Marva. I was just going to do a post on the other one. I stepped on the scale this morning (Sun) and was down 4 pounds. I think cutting out the snacks and keeping the fruit to a minum is what is doing it. Of course if I do need that snack I will sure take advantage of having one. Oh boy it feels good to finally start moving again!

Still waiting for my dentist to call me. Wouldn't you know I would pick a time to need him when he went out of town. Well I'm dealing with it. This may be better as the swelling is going down now and my teeth aren't as sensitive. They feel like they are firming up some too. It's just so darn hard to eat around all this mess! That may be why I'm losing!!!

I know tomorrow will be a busy one for me so will get some rest and get prepared for it. Take care and have a wonderful Monday to all who follow.

Hey everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend.

I spent a lot of time outdoors even in the heat and played tennis and frisbee and went walking. We went to a wedding last night for one of my cousin's and I spent a lot of time dancing as well.

Welcome to the new folks, you will love the support here! Couldn't be a greater group of people to help you along your journey.

Enjoy and happy Monday everyone! Can you believe it's almost August? 11 months till the wedding!

I'm in... Don't really know why, but after hitting 149 last Friday, I was back to 150 this past Friday. I'm SO super bummed. So I'm going to try to refocus. I don't know what's happening...I think I might be going over the "75 cals" for sweets or something. I've been a little lax with making sure I don't go over 75, so that could be the problem. I've thrown out the SF cookies that I bought (made the mistake of going to the grocery store hungry one day). I'm going to stick to the "legal legals" LOL - mainly sf jello & sf popsicles.

Also, STACY I know you mentioned last week you wanted to do an exercise challenge with me girl - I'm ready when you are. I'm feelin' a little bit of motivation - whatdya say girl? Anyone else???

Renewed vigor for losing this weight - right here. I want to see goal by Christmas. Christmas day is exactly 5 months from today ladies!

Have a fantastic day!

Good morning beachers! Hope everyone had a great weekend. I have my water in tow and have just finished a 30 minute walk this morning. Will do more this afternoon. I have a question (as always lol). This morning I am up 3 lbs. and my hands are very swollen. So I'm not stressed, just knowing it's water weight, but this has been a problem for me since I started SBD. Does anyone else have this problem? I've been drinking about 80 oz of water per day and usually one iced tea in the evening. I've even tried taking a water pill to no avail. Any suggestions? Thanks!!!!

ohh tracy i posted over you... i dont know about the swelling... not sure what you are eating but are you eating a lot of high sodium foods..cheese,lunch meat, salted nuts etc... maybe that is making you retain
i would think that the water you are drinking would help?
is it like that before or after your walk?

I try to watch my sodium content. As far as the walking, it seems to be a little worse after I walk even though I'm sweating like a pig lol. I've been walking in the heat of the afternoon...about 102-103 degrees usually. Do you think that could have something to do with it? I'm not sure....oh, and I do use Crystal lite in probably 40 of the 80 ounces....I don't know how much sodium that has, but I'll look. Thanks for your response!

Good morning everyone!

Less than 2 weeks before we go on vacation to Charleston, SC!!!

I stayed on plan over the weekend for the most part. Saturday night I had a glass of red wine and a few blue-corn chips at dinner.

We were very busy so I haven't had a chance to go to the store yet, today's menu is a little meager! Today is supposed to be my last day of Phase 1. I am going to continue making the mini quiches for breakfast, I love them and they are easy to eat during my drive into work!

I think the only carb I may add back in this week are some berries. Next week I may add in some whole-grain bread and see how those treat me!

Goodmorning to everyone,
It's really going to be a good day, I planned and shopped to do day Phase 1/ Day 1 yesterday, so when I read this uplifting post, "One perfect day on the program", made me say YES!

So I'll be here following Day 1, and i think I need to re-read the sb book.
Here's to a new beginning!!!
Thank-you so much for everything, and have beautiful day!

Good morning all....

Woke up not feeling well today... so I'm in neutral and going to take it easy. If I feel up to it this evening, DH, kids and I will hit the Y and I'll workout.

Otherwise sticking to plan and hanging around.

Have a great day!

Good morning beachers,
I weighed-in this morning and I'm up another pound! I'm not sure why, but I was and I've been 100% on plan. I usually have two BMs in the morning and I always weigh-in after the first one. Maybe I should change that. Anyway, I'm not going to get discouraged and know that weight fluctuates daily. I just want to see the scale go down, not up.
Have a great day on the beach!

Marva, I'm in! I had a bad night Friday night (2 slices of pizza and 2 handfuls of Skittles) and again last night (I had a Rita's gelati) . So even tho my 2 weeks of P1 should be over, I decided (while eating the gelati last night) that I was going to do stay on P1 for a couple more days. At least now I have some company! Good luck, everyone!

Good morning to all,

to another new member, Bethshaya, she's needing snack ideas, chime in one and all. I tend to eat a little protein, celery and low fat cheeses.

Kathy, yah, we'll do it!

Callie, we'll have one perfect day.

Steph, there's sometimes a water weight gain when crossing over. Are you eating things you weren't eating before? Just go slow and easy, it will level out.

ReneeBW, take care and hope you get to feeling better soon!

Truly, rereading the book is a great idea, and yes, here's to a new beginning.

Sugar, congrats on wrapping up P 1, I know you're excited about vacation.

tracy_w, Good job on the walking and I hear you on the fluid retention, I'm having that now too. I always expect it when I really up my exercise which I did last week like you. It's the body's way to making sure we don't injure ourselves, it will soon adjust. Stay on program and watch the sodium, drink lots of water.

Dana, morning. You're doing awesome with the pedometer! Yah on your weight loss to date.

TracyLew, yah on the goals,

Jessica, sounds like you a fun weekend!

Okay, I slept late and then got hung up with the phone company offering new features, so I'm off to do a late breakfast and I'm eating Phase 1, perfectly today with you guys!

Hello gals..

Im back on track today. You know you done wrong when you wake up feeling sick, hungry and needing to use the bathroom I think its definantly out of my system now.

Goals this week:

Excercise 5 days
Drink 1 gallon of water a day
Do not eat after 7pm

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Stephanie..whats the deal with whey protein powder? Is it good? Do you like it? Whats the benefits? Where do you get it? lol Dont get discouraged...change up your foods a little bit and see how that goes There's also a possibility that you need to eat MORE. Your body may be storing your food as fat because its in starvation mode..ive gained many times for that reason alone.
Sharon..great job!!! You're doing awesome!
Jessica...fantastic with all the excercising this weekend! You rock!!
Traci..im up for the excercise challenge. How should we do it? Im going to challenge myself to go to the gym 5 days out of the 7, starting today...and i need to burn at *least* 400 calories a day
Tracy..are you eating a lot of salt on this diet? Okay, you answered that lol..perhaps you're not drinking enough water. I know you said you're doing it but with this heat, your body may want more and is retaining it to keep you from sweating it out. Try upping another 20oz or so.
Dana..you're the bestest..thanks for teh encouraging words Lets do the excercise challenge and do one day at a time...what are you going to do TODAY?
Sugarbutt...you can do it sweetie! And you'll be lookin' hot for SC!
TG (trulygrateful LOL)...im with you...one perfect day has me too
Renee..feel better sweetie
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I cant wait till i get my new cookbooks in. Wont be for another week or so..probably should have just gone to hte bookstore and got them lol.

BUT

Im back on phase 1, day 1 today. Starting fresh..brand new...on course! So im going to mostly just follow the book anyhow

Todays plans:

Breakfast: 1 egg omlette with red peppers, broccoli & cheese

Snack: Part skim cheese stick

Lunch: Big Salad with romaine, red bell peppers, celery, turkey, cheese, bac'o bits, oil & vinegar

Snack: Celery with 1 wedge of laughing cow light

Dinner: Parmesan crusted chicken

Quote:
1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
pepper
1/2 cup shredded Parmesan, available in tubs near deli -- make sure to get shredded cheese, not grated
4 (6 to 8-ounce) boneless, skinless chicken breasts
4 plum Roma tomatoes or small, vine ripe tomatoes, seeded and chopped

Roll out a 2-foot piece of waxed paper or foil near the stove top. Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium high heat -- your pan must be very hot when the chicken is added. Pile the shredded cheese on the work surface created with the waxed paper or foil. Season your chicken breasts with black pepper but no salt; the cheese will add enough salt to the taste of the dish. Press the breasts firmly into the cheese. Coat both sides of breasts with as much cheese as possible. Add 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil to the skillet, 1 turn of the pan. Set breasts into the skillet and cook 7 minutes on each side, until cheese forms an even, golden casing around the tender chicken breasts.

While chicken cooks, combine chopped tomatoes with basil in a small bowl. Season with salt and pepper, to your taste.

Drain off any excess oil from chicken as you remove it from the skillet. Top chicken with roma tomatoes
Recipe from rachel ray but really revamped...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My son is sick today Aidan is throwing up everything but acting completely fine. Poor peanut..wont be leaving the house till i hit up the gym around 3 hten right back home for me. Good thing i bought my salad stuff last night.
Hello all you Beach Beauties! I hope you don't mind me joining your group. I am not really new to the South Beach diet and I'm definitely not new to Low Carb Friends. I usually post at the Lean for Life boards. I tried the SBD once before, but in all fairness, I did not give it my full attention. So I'm starting over, but this time my focus is strong and I'm dedicated to living a healthy life. I have a lot of weight to lose, but I know I can do it. I love to exercise, but I'm working on not sabotaging my efforts. I want to get back into my size sixes and I know it is very possible. I think of this not as diet by as returning to my healthy lifestyle. I have to catch up on all the postings, and I'll be back later for personals.
Renee
Hey gang I forgot to tell you all that I did manage to get rid of another pound. I'll take it because that's better than gaining.
