I'm glad to be back on the beach!!
Hi Everyone,
I did South Beach last summer after a friend of mine told me she lost 12 pounds in one month. I ran out and got the book, reading it cover to cover and lost 7 pounds in two weeks. I don't know what happened, but I went back to WW and was eating junk again (no one's fault but my own). I recently went back to Atkins (even though my heart kept telling me to do South Beach again) and I've lost 4 pounds in 17 days. I exercise four days a week and while I'm pleased with this loss, it seems a little slow to me. This is the WOE for me and I'm here to stay. Fortunately, my husband does all the cooking and is very supportive. He's looking at my SBD book and cookbooks as I type this. I'm so glad to be back on the beach........ ![]()

Thank you, marvi.
My husband chooses to eat junk and there's nothing I can do about it. I just want him to be healthy, so I choose to be healthy for me and no one else. |

Hi!
I am planning to come to the beach soon! I did Atkins very successfully for 5 years. Then I quit smoking and gained some weight. When it wouldn't budge I switched over to WW. I have lost just a few pounds, but find I am eating the junk again too! FF chips etc.! So right after labor Day I will be switching to SB. I'm "lurking" here, getting ideas etc., so it's great to know you are glad to be back on SB after WW.!! -Patt |

Yes, there's definitely a SBD life after WW and the points are wonderful to know in setting boundaries if you want to! I did the same as you with the refined stuff. ETA: Congrats on the no smoke! Last edited by justmarvi : 07-24-2005 at 07:59 PM. |

back Patt and congratulations on kicking the cigarette habit! I quit smoking cold turkey 6 1/2 years ago when I found out I was pregnant with our son and proceeded to gain 75 pounds during my pregnancy - never having a weight problem before that. I had made several unsuccessful attempts to quit before, but I was ready this tiime. The last time I smoked was December 31, 1998. My husband eventually followed.....the last time he smoked was October 26, 2001. You can do it! We'll be here for you when you're ready! ![]() Last edited by moonstruck : 07-24-2005 at 08:18 PM. |
