Some Suggestions Please

OK I am rather excited. I have been following this since mid January and have begged my DH to start this with me from day one. Well he just shrugged it off and went on his way. He isn't overweight, but could stand to lose about 15 pounds or so..nothing major.

So last night I was telling him that I am going back on phase 1 for 2 weeks. (I had to reassure him it wasn't to lose weight, he feels that I have lost too much) and I asked him would he join me. And to my surprise...he said YES!!

Now, here is what I need suggestions on. He hates eggs with a passion and isn't really into health foods, so I know this is gonna be challenging. What could he eat for breakfast instead of eggs oh and the mock stuff...he said he isn't eating anything mock?

Suggestions are very welcome even for what to feed him for lunch...

So cool Samantha!

My DH started with me too at the beginning and lost like 11 pounds in the 1st 2 weeks. Of course, that's where he's stayed b/c he didn't need to lose much (wants to lose 10 more, but isn't stressin' over it). Luckily he doesn't hate eggs ... But what you could probably do is just save some leftovers from dinner. ? I know I've read where people eat salads for breakfast. Could you hide eggs in a quiche and have him eat that?

For lunch, I was always fixing Dustin a big ol' salad w/ham & turkey, sometimes chicken or whatever protein I had from dinner the night before.

I hope this all works out

My dh is good about eating SBD with me too. He eats cereal and a banana or an orange most mornings, I cook the egg/bacon meal for him on weekends for brunch. I also wish he would eat breakfast at dinner but he thinks it's strange.

Aren't our guys neat! Them helping us is 1/2 the battle.

I know, he has always supported me through this and I can control his eating for dinner but I am gonna have my work cut out for me for his breakfast and lunch though. He goes out to eat with the guys most days and that's gonna be a tuff one.

Although he said he needs to finish his bagels before his starts his Phase 1, because he would hate to waste food..LOL

I will be happy if I can just him to complete 1 week on phase 1 and then move to phase 2 so that he can have oatmeal for breakfast.

Well first off I NEVER say mock, and NEVER say fauxtattoes, or fauxtots (ie fried chick peas) When I stopped using negative terms the fiance was much better at dealing with it. HE loves fried chickpeas but call them tater tots and he flips out lol. He likes mashed cauliflower so long as I call the food what it is and don't make up stuff LOL.

At first I replaced food with healthier food. IE: Took ramen noodles and replaced with organic non transfat noodles. Took white bread and replaced with store bought wheat. He lost 20 pounds in a snap and was like woah...whats going on. THEN he got interested and now eats ONLY whole seed wheat bread, no trans fat reads labels, etc. He has lost about 40 total and needs to loose about 10-20 more. He got to the point of WHY are you buying me crap when yer eating all this good stuff. Happiest day in my life. I was buying him pizza and eating a huge organic salad and he got jealous....hehe

I hate eggs, he's ok with them. But he doesn't miss them. If I buy to many and make hard boiled ones he will eat them all but he doesn't need them.

He used to eat cup o soup for brekky all the time or sugared yohgurt NOW if he eats that yogurt he gets sick. He gets mean and his blood sugar drops. He changed and now can't eat the crap he used to. LOL he went to mcdonalds a few months ago and got real sick, was hungover and such and said thats it, I cant believe I feel like I drank a bottle of rum last night...haha and he didnt even eat fries there.

He still eats chips and stuff but maybe once every three months as opposed to twice a month.

But now back to brekky. We eat skewered meat with veggies alot. Or a steak topped with cheese and veggies. Today we will have chicken. We don't usually do brekky food. He never had that with me because even 6 years ago I hated eggs and was doing Atkins. Sometimes I make creamcheese pancakes with blueberries, or porkrind pancakes or something (more atkins less SB) but usually I am trying for more meat protein earlier. The problem is timing. He needs to eat earlier and can't....then is starved at work. If I am walking 12k steps in 8 hours, so is he btw. We have no desk to sit at or anything we are on our feet the whole time. In a busy day we could walk over 8 miles in 10 hours.

That's pretty good..I may have to just do that with him. I alreayd buy the whole grain breads and things like that, but during the day when he is at work and goes out with the guys and its fast food and I think that's what does it.

I am the type of person who can eat almost anything, and remember I said almost..I eat strange food combinations all the time and never think twice about it. Even when DH is giving me the strangest looks ever

He is a little different, probably because he was raised different. I eat SB and have since Jan., my youngest daughter eats SB and has since the first of Feb. Our oldest daughter said that if DH would do it, then she would..LOL (She doesn't like eggs either)
