*♥*Thursday Check In*♥* - July 21th

Hi to all you beach babes!

Hope I'm getting this up in time for some of you late roamers to be able to check in. Hi early birds!

Pennypower usually only gets a chance to do a late check in and she's going great but needs some suggestions.....let's help her out.....

I think the key was that I ate my SD cereal at home and I really was not hungary.
I still struggle with quick family meals for weeknights. Any one have some good standby's? OH and I HATE fish and seafood Penny
Talk to you guys in the morning....

Hi again !

I'm about to call it a day and thought I'd start us off with some tips I read in a newsletter. We'll be armed if we meet up with any of these folks!

Don't let the food pushers give you a push!

Food pushers are people who get a need within them fulfilled by
getting us to eat. They may feel that they're a great host when
others eat their baked goods, or maybe they need the positive
comments you make when you eat their goodies.

Or maybe they hate to eat alone or to eat more than you do in front
of you, so they "push" you to eat. Whatever their reasons, food
pushers can sabotage your weight loss plans.

Keep these techniques in mind the next time you're faced with the
food pushers in your life, so you can push back:

-- Practice saying no politely but firmly. You may have to say it
several times before they realize you really mean it. "I know your
cookies are delicious, but I have to decline."

-- Keep it simple and don't feel like you have to justify yourself.
Your weight and health are at stake! "I'm going for a walk during
lunch, but thanks for the offer to eat out."

Take a few moments to reflect on the last time you felt pressured
to eat by a food pusher. Work out a few ways to say "thanks but no
thanks." Then practice in the mirror so you can be prepared and
stand your ground the next time someone tries to push food on you.

Push back (politely),

I hope everyone has a great day!

Gosh, I have one of those, in my family Gosh it's so tough because it's my grandma. We joked as kids she fed the whole neighbourhood and she really really did. Now it's just me and my Fiance and no matter how many times I tell her the crazy wench then offers me some ice cream....*SOB* I usually give in. Last time I didn't man did it feel so good but she still didn't shut it.

I am doing good, walked 11594 steps from about 5 pm until 1am today. I only wear my pedi for work so in 8 hrs I did over my goal woo hoo. Last night was about 8000 and my goal is 10000 just at work so I am doing well.

Still working on getting enough food during work when we expend the most energy but tonight was better than last night. Think I am going to take a nap then go fix dinner. Have a good one all.

darkfire---nice to see someone else who works crazy hours... i wear my pedometer at work too... i always thought i was walking alot, but now i know i am. are you logging in your steps on steptracker?, we have a SB group on there... but only marva, me and jessica are all that i have seen logging steps
early good morning to everyone and i will check in later and get some personals done.

STEP AWAY FROM THE SCALES TRACY!!! Ok that's what I keep telling myself, but, I did weigh this morning b/c I was still stressing over yesterday's weight and guess what...you guys are right...it was down 2 lbs this morning so a total loss of 5.5 lbs now. Soooo..no more weighing in until the official weigh-in day, Monday.

Marvi, you always have great posts...the people I work with are food pushers and I am learning to decline their offers with tact.

Penny, I put a post up last night on Wed check in about the ground beef idea...works for my family for at least 2 meals through the week!

Steptracker? Where does one find that? I have a pedometer that I need to use. How many steps do you girls usually try to get in a day?

I hope everyone has a great day and I'll be back this evening.

good morning! Ah, only one more day until the weekend!

Tracy - I too need to stop weighing in every day, I'm going to be discouraged if I keep this up!

Marvi - my husband is a food pusher...and last night I gave in a little, but stuck to plan at least! Instead of going to Dairy Queen like he wanted we went to a place that has sf icecream...it was very tasty, was just like a soft fudgesicle, which was a nice treat considering our miserably hot and sticky it is here!

I have a neighbor like that. We are always invited over there for some "food event" (that's what I call it.....wall-to-wall food). I've declined the last 2 invites because I cannot be tempted. My DH and kids still go.

Yesterday I was over there in the pool with the kids and she kept trying to get me to try her new drink.......I had to decline at least 4 times. I told her I was doing SB, she said "oh". She's a size 2 or 4, so she doesnt really know how I feel.

Good morning all.

Day 2 of the garage sale. Not much luck yesterday...only made about 25.00 between my sister-in-law and myself. We are hoping for a better day today since it is more of a garage sale day now. We will see. I will keep you updated. Have a great day everyone!

Good Morning Everyone.

I also Looovvvveee chessecake.....

I have learned of some Mininites(spelling?) that lives in a nearby county that sells whole grain bread, sourdough, cheese, etc. This is suppost to be all natural because they make it themselves and is suppost to be the best food that you will ever eat. OK, so, what I am wondering is would the cheese, butter, etc be ok to eat or would I still need to stay away from it and not buy it?

Do the items have a nutrition label?

Is the cheese low fat? reduced fat?

I dont have any idea. Someone told me about it today and said that you can sit and watch them make the bread, cheese, all of it basically. I would say there wouldnt be any nutritional value on it because it is all homemade by them like it use to be because all of the processed stuff was added to foods. I was thinking, the breads anyways, would be all natural.

Goodmorning Beachers!

Sending everyone a big HELLO from California and thanking all of your for the wonderful advice that has been coming from everyong. I have sure been needing some and got some great stuff to follow for getting my restart booster going. After losing my 110 pounds my brain has been thinking to just settle here and be happy. Well I'm only half way to goal and don't want to just settle where I am. It has been hard getting my portion control back to were I have that little loss every couple of days as I feel that ole hunger taunting me to eat a little more of the good foods. Needless to say that the good foods have to be eating in moderation in order to not over do the calorie count so the scale will show a loss. Duh!! Hey I'm doing great in maintaining and know when I get to phase 3 that I won't have a bit of a problem holding my own there! Ok so this is my start to the new me and 145 goal weight. I'm 245 this morning and have that second 100 pounds to get off. Now is the time to get it done.

Have a great beach day everyone and keep up the great jobs you are doing. I'm heading over to the pedometer site and put in my steps. That is a great idea and now that I'm wearing mine each day will start posting in my steps to.

i buy as much organic as possible, but without a label I don't buy anything. If you are selling bread you better label it. I eat usually big skyy bread. Do a search on it if you are interested.

Hello all~

I have been pretty busy today and haven't had a time to post. Having a decent day. Went to a farmers market today at lunch time and got a bunch of fresh veggies!! I'm really sleepy though. I work 4 ten hour days every week so by this time on Thursday, I'm usually feeling basically worn out. Thank goodness I get to sleep late tomorrow!

Have a great day everyone
