Peek-a-boo! Happy Wednesday everyone! It's the middle of the week (yay!) so let's get moving!!! It has been H-O-T here, 103 today and just going to get the mail has been a chore. So my exercising is happening realllly early in the morning or realllly late at night. But it's happening and that's the important part. When I am on vacation the next 5 days I will be using the hotel gym- yes me- the girl who could not even fathom why people would go to a gym while on vacation before. And here I am looking up online to see if there is one at the hotels we are staying at! Anyway keep on rocking ladies! Enjoy yourself and be proud that you are doing something great for your health and your future by eating this way. Taking control! Weeee!

Good morning all..eating breakfast and will be going to the gym in a couple of hours. I work out 3 days per week with a personal trainer and have done so for about 3 months. My weight loss (or lack thereof) prompted me to alter my eating habits. So far the SBD is going well! One question, I did Atkins for about 6 months 2 years ago and really watched the ketosis. Do beachers monitor ketosis as well? Not much was mentioned in my SBD book. Thanks!

Good morning!

I weighed myself simply to see if I am making any progress and I am! I am down 1.4 lbs after only 2 days of Phase 1 ! This is great motivation, and I can't wait to see how much more I lose...hopefully I can hold off until Monday to step on the scale again!

Good Morning to Everyone!

Thanks justmarvi for the invitation to join in with the check in group! I babysit my Grandkids on Tues, Wed, and Thurs every week, and the gang just arrived! Three of the best kids in the world! Just getting ready to plan my menu for the day, I find that it helps me to sit at the table with my morning de-caf and plan out my menu for the day! Then I can concentrate on what everyone else is doing for the day as well! Hope that everyone has a wonderful day!

Good mornin' folks ~

Tracy - I haven't watched ketosis at all. From my understanding, SBD isn't a ketogenic diet. I know I haven't been in ketosis at all - no dragon breath or strong urine smell (sorry if TMI). I think that's one of the plusses of SBD over Atkins. You don't have to stress out about being "knocked out of ketosis" and you don't have to stress about going over in carbs. You just eat from the acceptable food lists and move on! Good luck on this WOE!!

Marva - You're always so positive - You're such a great leader! Thanks for the motivation to "keep swimming" every day!!

Jessica - Have a great vacation! Be safe, and it's so awesome that you'll be working out! I need to take notes girl!! I still need to go get a pedometer (pay day is Friday!! Vacation almost put me in the poorhouse!!!)

Hello to everyone who follows!!

I had a good day yesterday. Stuck to my eating really well. I had a little bit of a change in plans for dinner - I was supposed to have grilled chicken & green beans, but softball went longer than expected, so DH and I went to Arbys. I had one of the new "Wrapadillas"...Probably not the BEST choice, but from what I understand, it's a whole wheat tortilla that they use. & I had some steamed broccoli.

My big goal for the day is to get in all my water. I've been struggling with that for the last couple of days. It's been weird trying to get back in the routine after not really getting quite enough in while I was on vacation.

Have a great day!!!

Anaday - WTG on avoiding those temptations! What kind of soup did you make? I love soup - would love a good recipe!

Sugarbutt - for the weight loss! You're doing great!! KUTGW!

Becca - I saw your post from last night - GREAT job on your weight loss so far! It's really amazing! You're going to get to goal in NO time. Are you in P2 now? What kind of foods have you added back in? Have fun w/ your grandkids!!

You guys slipped in while I was taking a LONG time to post my reply!!

tracy--- i just made up my own... i cooked a whole chicken and broccoli/cauliflower in chicken broth and water and seasoned it with pepper, garlic powder, onion powder and a little bit of low carb mushroom soup powder..... then i took the chicken out when it was done.
i added a can of green beans, chickpeas, kidney beans (i meant to put in celery but forgot ) added more onion/garlic powder and pepper, added a little i can't believe its not butter to it and cooked it for about 2 hrs in the crock pot (i cooked the chicken for 8hrs )
thats all i did, bet it would be better if i used fresh veggies but i dont own any
not much of a cooker so this was actually really good for me... the girls at work tease me because i say if there are more that 3 steps in the instructions to cook something then i am not cooking it
hope this helps

Good morning ladies!

Sorry I've been MIA lately. I have a lot going on but I am pretty much eating on plan. I did have a half order of french fries on Saturday and wasn't sure how I felt about it. I think I overate on Saturday and a bit on Sunday (all legal stuff, just too much) to compensate for feeling bad over eating the fries. Plus I was worried if I'd see a weight gain. The good news is that I didn't gain back 107.5 pounds after eating 1/2 medium carton of fries . I'm glad to know that I can have them occasionally. I was thinking I was pretty close to maintenance and wanted to see how I would do adding them back maybe once per week or twice per month to my diet and what ill effects I'd have. None thankfully.

I do want to comment on the SBD cereal. I'm not sure how many of you have had it yet. But I think it is producing big time cravings in me. I can't believe how sweet the cereal smells in the box. SBD cereal claims to have 1 less carb from sugars than my regular Post whole wheat flakes, but my Post flakes don't smell or taste as sweet at the SBD cereal. They had it on sale at Target so I did pick up 2 more boxes. DH loves it and we ate the small box between us in about 4 days. If someone else has had the whole wheat crunch SBD cereal, I'd love to hear your experience with it.

I'm going strong with my cardio and weight exercises and running too. I actually brought my work out stuff to the office on Monday and ran for 30 minutes. I was a sweaty mess afterwards but it was a nice experiment. I think I'll go back to running after work and on the weekends. It did feel nice to try it at work though.

I don't have time for personals right now but I wanted to make sure to post and say hi and see how everyone is doing.

Hugs to all ladies, and I'll try to stop by back soon!

TraciLew!

Everything is going so well I am afraid to go to Phase 2! I guess this is working so well and I am satisfied with the plan so I hate to rock the boat! I know that eventually I must go to Phase 2 but I am scared to for now!

Good Morning everybody, I hope you all are doing fine. I'm doing really good on the plan so far. I just need to try some new recipes. I went to Shoney's last night, I had a juicy steak, salad bar, and I did taste a little just a little bit of mac & cheese. I know just spank me. I was bad.

Today at work we have a luncheon for a guy that is leaving. I brought veggie tray, so I can eat the SB way. We are having KFC and other food that I can't have. I am going to get me a piece of chicken and take the skin off.

I gotta go, chat later.

Renee checking in and - down a pound today. I didn't walk as much yesterday as I did on Monday and I ate well until dinner when DH bought stuffed ravioli - he's eating and enjoying all he can since Monday he gets his tonsils out and he can't enjoy much for 2 weeks. I just had a few instead of the large meal of ravioli that I normally would have.

Hi there!

Do you have room for one more?

So, i've been going back and forth between low carb and weight watchers for quite a while now. Been successful in losing 35 pounds but i feel stuck in a rut. Always wanting to learn how to just eat better for the rest of my life instead of going back and forth between a diet that keeps me hungry and another diet that makes me swell and feel gross. So, i picked up my southbeach book today...started reading it and made out my grocery list for the week. Im starting first thing tomorrow morning (grocery shopping tonite). I think this is a "diet" that i can stick with and not feel like im constantly dieting. I also figure that if i can get through 2 weeks of induction on atkins, i can surely get through the first 2 weeks of this! lol

BTW, im Stacy (26) married to Jim (34) for nearly 5 years and mom to Riley James (4) and Aidan Kylar (11 months today!). Im a domestic goddess (aka stay at home mom and slave driver). We live in NM (grew up in Connecticut).

I hope you're welcoming more because i can use all the support i can get Look forward to getting to know you all

Stacy

Hi all -

I'm back to this board after a 2.5 month hiatus. I missed you all. I've gained about 15 pounds since I've been gonem, but I recommited to this WOE a couple of days ago. It's hard to check in as much because I am working during the summer (instead of being at school on my laptop), but I will try to come by as often as possible.
