Pedometer Wearing Beachers

Hi all!
For those of you that are going to break out the pedometer and join me in walking across the United States, I set up a group on www.steptracker.com it is called South Beachers and the password is SBD
So once you are logged in to steptracker you click on clubs
Go to join a club
And put in the info above

Each day (or whenever you get around to it if you are writing it down somewhere) you log your steps and it will show all of us sort of competing against one another but also working as a group to get across America and see how long it takes us. I will join as "SB Totals" so you will see that name and it will be me keeping track of all of us together!

Enjoy and hope to see you there. We start tracking tomorrow (July 1st)

are the pedometers any good from walmart? i have only had one pedometer and i got it from mcd's when they gave them out with their salads and it was not accurate.
are you guys going to wear them all the time(like does just walking around the house count)
i might go to walmart tonight and get one if they are accurate and walk with everyone

I have gone through many pedometers (don't leave them on the clothes when you do the laundry hehhe) and so at first I got one at Walmart that was more expensive (a whopping 6 dollars I think) and it was pretty good. After going through so many I am down to the 3.88 one from Walmart and if you set the stride length and wear it in a correct spot (we got my mom one and she wears her pants so high that it was like at her chest and wasn't counting right lol- i wear mine on the side of my undies in my hip where my leg meets my torso, unless I'm wearing something that won't work with then I wear it on my jeans pocket) and it is pretty accurate. I wear mine all day to see if I can get 10,000 steps a day.

okay got my pedometer!! took a minute to figure out my stride (measured it 3 times to make sure ) and took a min to set it because i had to go all the way back through the #'s, because it starts on 30, and mine was like 24...
i am interested to see how many steps i take, especially at work, but i dont go back to work until sunday
see everyone tomorrow

Thanks Jessica! I thought of you when I took my pedometer with me on vacation, it really kept me motivated! I hope it becomes a good habit for me now.
