*Check In Thread* for Thursday, June 30

Hi beach babes!

Just thought I'd get us started. I need to be working on month end financial stuff so I'm off to do what they pay me for here at work!

I hope everyone has a great Thursday and know we are all looking forward to the nice long weekend. Isn't it wonderful to look forward to activities instead of food? There was a time when all that would be on my mind is where is the bbq. Now I focus on enjoying family, friends and the relaxing feeling of not having to go to work for three whole days in a row! Woohoo!!!

I'll be back later.

Mornin' all~

Just checkin in...this is my last day here before vacation. I'm really bloated b/c TOM is on the way - i was at 152 this morning I always add 1-2 pounds just before TOM comes. Hate this - no way I'll get to the 140s by vacation. *sigh* I'm pretty down about this. I know a lot of this is my own fault b/c I haven't been working out. I'm not going to eat bad on vacation, and I would love to think that I'm going to be getting in some sort of exercise while I'm at the beach - maybe walking/jogging on the beach.

Hope everyone's feeling better than me... Sorry I'm being "debbie downer" today...lol (such a funny SNL skit)

hi

Hi everyone,

I haven't checked in all week because I've been down about my weight. This is week three and I've lost one pound IN TOTAL. I have nearly perfect SB diet eating habits.

Week one: 155, down to 152
Week two: TOM, 152 up to 153.5
Week three: finished TOM 153.5 up to 154.

Diet is, B: egg whites with low fat cheese, v8
coffee with sugar free creamer
L: salad with tuna and veggies O/V
S: 2nd half of salad because its huge
D: chicken over salad with veggies
S: sugar free jello or sugar free fudgsicle with peanut butter (natural)

Plenty of water & excerise (cardio). I dont know what is goign on, but I Have NEVER EVER been successful on a diet. I always creep up and up.

HELP!!!!!!!!!!

Good Morning everyone,

Busy day today, but I will still find time this evening for a workout. Only light running though, because I don't want to aggravate my shin splints before the 4th. ack!

zeraspride: thanks for getting us started!! you're right about looking forward to activities rather than food!!

traci: harhar...debbie downer...that is a funny sketch on SNL. anyway, TOM will pass and you'll keep moving along and get to 140!!!

anadday: the tortilla chips sound good!! what else have you tried as toppings?

natalie: our bodies are such weird things...just hang in there!!!

Ok, i'm off to have some breakfast...egg white omelet with mushrooms and low-sodium V8. BBL!!

Good morning everyone! I am getting ready to head to my parent's house in Napa this morning. There is a BBQ at my uncle's for his daughter that I haven't seen in about 15 years so it should be fun. And I am hoping it cools off today (supposed to be over 100 though) so that I can go walking. Tried to do it on the treadmill yesterday but the treadmill is in the garage and it was way hot in there! We went grocery shopping last night and I am so excited about all the new additions in the refrigerator- new yummy strawberries and so forth! I love seeing fruit in there! Alright I am making myself hungry so I am off to have some breakfast. Enjoy everyone!

Well, I didn't stick to P1. Almost. Nonetheless, I am back down to 123 today!!! I think what really helps (besides staying busy in the afternoon, when the snack monster hits) is not eating after dinner. I almost gave in last night when I was hungry at about 11, but I drank a ton of flavored water instead. It felt good to be in control.

Don't really have much to say for personals looks like everyone is doing great! And don't worry, Traci, TOM will be gone soon, keep strong!

Hope everyone has a nice holiday. Does anyone know when Marva gets back?

rola---i brushed the tortillas with olive oil and put parmesean cheese and garlic powder on them and then baked them... that was the 1st time i have ever made them...they were good but i think i should have used garlic salt instead of powder, i felt like they needed some salt..maybe onion powder too
ally---congrats on your weight loss
watermelonmist---have fun at the barbeque, yummm strawberries
natalie--how tall are you? i know it is frustrating..just hang in there.. i dont drink coffee but could the creamer(even though it is sugar free) be stalling your weight????
i dont remember if you just started exercising when your started south beach or not but i have heard that when you first start exercising you could temperarely gain weight
i hope it all works out for you soon
traci---sucks TOM is coming right before your vacation, i am sure you will still have a great time at the beach..
zeraspride--- i made your buffalo chicken.. it turned out pretty good but my cats didnt appreciate it...i set of the smoke alarm like 3 times my cats hid under the bed for an hour ive got to work on my culinary skills

Hey everybody, I'm on my lunch at work. I want you all to know that I really love the support here. I'm really happy to be here with you all.

Last night my kids had fish and hushpuppies for dinner. My daughter left 2 hushpuppies on her plate. I'm the one who who (use to) eat the leftovers . Guess what? I didn't do that last night. I was so proud of myself. I am determined to be smaller by the end of the year.

I hope everybody have a great 4th of July. I know I will, its my father's B-day, he will be 80yrs young.

Good for you, but aren't many of the flavored waters - high in carbs? Is there a low carb one that I should know about? Renee

Most of the flavored waters are now splenda sweetened and 0-5 calories. I drink Fruit 2-0. They have Dasani and Aquafina in flavors. Crystal light I suppose is techincally flavored water. I don't know if it's splenda or nutrasweet if that matters to you.

I just bought a citrus blend diet V8 splash last night that I really like. I think it's 10 calories a cup?

MMM - I like the Dasani raspberry and the Aquafina Citrus blend - but I have to watch them. Did you know that they have just as much sodium as a diet soda!!??

I haven't touched OJ in years since I found Diet V8 Splash citrus blend preferably.

I'll have to look more closely at those waters - propel is higher in carbs so I have to keep looking.

kathy: you're doing it, good job!!!! it was also a small victory for me, once i could clear the dishes without eating any leftovers off of DD's plate!! i thought, does the random chicken nugget taste THAT good??

all this talk of flavored (LC) waters sounds so yummy. usually i just get by with crystal lite if i need it. i have enjoyed the SF cherry kool-aid lately though...

Hi guys,

It's been awhile since I posted last but I'm struggling a little here. I've been cheating more than usual and I'm having a hard time staying focused on the plan. I've really gotten lax about allowing myself to indulge now and then, "as long as I get right back on plan", which I do...but I'm allowing myself to cheat more and more. It's almost like I have too much freedom! I started eating too many grains, then that turned into a bite or two of something "illegal" now and then, and tonight we went to dinner and I had 2 rolls and a sweet potato!!!! This is a slippery slope and I don't like it. Help!
