ARRRGH!!!!!!
Atkins ( although a great diet) has messed me up so bad lol I can't stop looking at carb counts ...it's my an obsession. I was sitting her debating with myself if I could have the veggie juice this morning because it was 6 carbs and was that few ozs of juice worth 6 carbs. Tell me it gets easier cause i feel like a nut. Another question right before I decided to start South Beach I made a big order from netrition ( another brainy moment of mine ) anyways I have all of this atkins stuff and now what do i do with it? Can I use the shakes and the box of morning start bars i got in a emergency situation or traveling. I mean it could be better than some other choices. I just don't want to have wasted all the money. I also have a new box of carbquick that I know can't be used. Also, I got these Scandanavian crisp bread from netrition. Can you tell me if they are allowed? Please say they are i have 4 packages .Nutrition Facts Serving Size: 1 slice (9g) Servings Per Container: 12 Amount Per Serving % Daily Value* Total Calories 16 Calories From Fat 0 Total Fat 0 g 0% Saturated Fat 0 g 0% Cholesterol 0 mg 0% Sodium 30 mg 1% Total Carbohydrates 3 g 2% Dietary Fiber 3 g 16% Protein 1 g Vitamin A 0 I.U. i don't see why you couldn't use all of those products - including the carbquick,.. i mean i would say that if it was ok on atkins it will be fine on south beach,.. since south beach seems to be a more liberal version of atkins. i would probably avoid using them daily on either plan, since less processed foods are better all around,..but once in a while you should be fine, i've used the atkins shakes and breakfast bars before and they never stalled me, i actually really like them (especially the cafe au lait shakes and the strawberry breakfast bars!)
edited to add : the crisps should be fine, the carb count is 3 and the fiber is 3, sounds great to me!

I totally agree that you should be able to use those Atkins products on SBD. We are happy to have you joining us! It may take a little time to start ignoring carb contents on packages but you will have such freedom once you do!

ohh i think i just bought those scandanavian crispbreads a few minutes ago... are they any good. i debated on getting them cuz they looked a little to "branny" for me
but i got them, figured if i wanted a cracker, these were the best ones as far as "carbs" go |

Mommyto3,
I know what you mean about how Atkins can change your way of thinking about food. I'm in the SAME boat sometimes. When I start focusing in on carbs, instead of health and good carbs, I try and remember what we were put on earth with (fruit, veggies, meat, etc). Everything that is healthy and good for your body (fuel wise) has GOOD carbs in it, with the exception of most meat of course (not many carbs). It helps me to think like that. When I am focusing on carbs, then that means I'm thinking about trying to have IMMEDIATE weightloss. Just think about your food being healthy and your body becoming leaner and stronger, and don't think about the carbs. Because your eating GOOD carbs now. Your body needs good nutrients. Go ahead, drink your V8 juice. HTH Blessings, Compassion |
